How many brits applied for the jobs and were rejected? How many have you applied for and been rejected in favour of a migrant? If brits aren't applying why not? No clue you mate, all of these polish workers will have gone through an agency, 12 weeks then gone full time, the agency they work for will be targeting polish people to come work for them, why, coz they know they will come in droves to earn minimum wage, half of that minimum wage will be sent home, or they will graft for a year or two then bugger off home again. This is the real world, not the fluffy one you and Corbyn live in. Then the person to blame is Big Ed Stobart and his ilk for being greedy, not the eu.

Here's an idea - why doesn't the UK empty all their prisons and send all the criminals to any other EU country - just like what Romania, Lithuania, Estonia, Greece, Bulgaria and Poland have done? Just think of all the money the UK will save on prison accommodation! How many prisoners in UK prisons are from EU countries? Amazon distribution centre in Banbury - the roads around it are full of Romanians in vans waiting to collect their orders every morning. They don't care how or where they park. Apparently they get paid by the weight they carry, not by the amount of parcels. It is a sight to see, and I have seen it. How nice to see them throw their rubbish out of their van windows.

Don't forget that they can also claim 'child tax credits' for their offspring back in Poland, meaning an even tidier sum to send home.

Romanian has consolidated its place as the second most common non-British nationality in the UK, thanks to a 21% jump in nationals in just 12 months. An estimated 433,000 Romanians were living in the UK in the year to June 2018, new figures show. This is up 75,000 on the previous 12 months – the largest increase for any country. Polish remains the most common non-British nationality, with an estimated 985,000 Poles in the UK. Is it the first time the number of Poles has dipped below one million since the EU referendum. Romania is in second place, followed by India (374,000 nationals), the Republic of Ireland (337,000) and Italy (292,000). www.banburycake.co.uk/uk_national_news/17265181.21-jump-in-romanian-nationals-living-in-uk/

British workers living in the UK may have contributed more, being paid twice the salaries of cheap labour EU migrants, and thus being able to pay more to the exchequer over their lifespans.

It is interesting that Coventry shows up in the list of areas with a high percentage of Polish people. Following the end of WW2, a huge majority of Polish soldiers serving with British armed forces were demobilised in the West Midlands, and a large number of them settled in the area.
My father was one of them. Having served with the 8th army in Africa and later in Italy, the engineering skills he had acquired in the service served him well in a town which still had, at that time, a strong role in British heavy industry.
FYI, he held a British passport from 1941. He was sixteen years old.
Aint nothing new under the sun, least of all xenophobia and racism.

I see the Polish don't want any migrants 'of the wrong colour' entering Poland. "Poland’s vision for migration, according to the draft, implies an ethnically and religiously based ranking of “favoured” people who would be encouraged to come and work in Poland with varying degrees of welcome. At the top of the hierarchy are Poles who migrated abroad after the fall of communism in 1989 and have the right to return without restriction. Then there are ethnic Poles ready for “repatriation”, especially from families who found themselves outside Poland’s new borders at the end of World War II. Next are migrants from Ukraine, Belarus and other former Soviet countries, who would ideally come periodically in and out of Poland for seasonal or temporary jobs. At the bottom of the pile are long-term immigrants from elsewhere who would be forced into a policy of integration and assimilation. Poland seeks to create a ranking of countries of origin of migrants outside the EU and link the number of visas and residency permits granted to the score of the country on the list, according to the draft. Criteria to be used in the ranking include cultural, linguistic and religious similarities, links to Poland, the existence of radical political or religious groups, internal conflicts in society, crime levels, poverty levels and the epidemiological situation." balkaninsight.com/2019/08/13/new-polish-migration-policy-seen-enshrining-xenophobia/

My DCPC trainer also mentioned that in 2004, wages for a Class 2 driver in Northampton were typically £10 per hour. Now, 15 years later wages for a Class 2 driver are typically £9.50 an hour, so inflation-adjusted a 30-50% reduction in wages. It was mainly the Labour government under Tony Blair which set this in motion with the mass import of labour from post-Communist economies. Would you not agree that the Labour party should at least try to maintain the pretense that it represents the working class?

Got his fingers in his ears..... lalalalalalalala Jim is a typical eu supporter in that his support for the eu approaches near-religious fervour. He simply cannot accept that anyone could oppose eu membership for any reason other than some type of "racism" or "xenophobia". Support for the eu is a "faith" and no amount of rational and logical argument has any effect whatsoever on him. I'm sure that if he had a proper job, the pay and conditions of which had deteriorated enormously since the 2004 and 2007 eu expansions he would see things very differently.
