Romanian has consolidated its place as the second most common non-British nationality in the UK, thanks to a 21% jump in nationals in just 12 months. An estimated 433,000 Romanians were living in the UK in the year to June 2018, new figures show. This is up 75,000 on the previous 12 months – the largest increase for any country. Polish remains the most common non-British nationality, with an estimated 985,000 Poles in the UK. Is it the first time the number of Poles has dipped below one million since the EU referendum. Romania is in second place, followed by India (374,000 nationals), the Republic of Ireland (337,000) and Italy (292,000). www.banburycake.co.uk/uk_national_news/17265181.21-jump-in-romanian-nationals-living-in-uk/So while you live the highlife in Finland you want us to be poorer. Here's some facts instead of racist beliefs; THE FISCAL IMPACT OF IMMIGRATION ON THE UK European migrants living in the UK contribute £2,300 more to public purse each year than the average adult, suggesting a net contribution of £78,000 to the exchequer over their lifespan in the UK. Here’s my objective analysis. Over 3 years after the majority vote went in favour of leaving the EU, every single party in government is still responsible for the failure to deliver Brexit. Boris is pushing things right to the edge (quite rightly, we’ve all had enough). Either we get Brexit on Oct 31st, or our self serving politicians (and those driving them) will carry on ignoring the will of the people and throw us all into a dictatorship the British public will no longer have a say in. No its a tory thing through and through. Cameron called it with no preparation thinking we would all vote remain, he was a tiny bit wrong on that. May thought she could strengthen her hand with an election but failed, having to struggle on with DUP support. She then negotiated a good deal, but the nutters in her party wouldn't back her. The nutters then thought they had control when they were foist on us by 100,000 old fogies, true to their name they then went nuts and threw away any small majority( one was it) and they are now left having tantrums because they can't call and lose another election at their whim. The tories dreamed it up, the tories have failed to implement it, the tories have dragged us into the mire. It was a shite remainer deal which is why it was rejected! it tied us the EU forever, I think you should stand to be a labour MP Jim you have the losing qualities that they require

Not to mention that had the remainers not tried every trick in the book to delay and weaken our bargaining position, we'd have left, those few years of very slight downturn would be in the past.

My grandson 14yrs, is training to be a tory basher, requested and got a work experience placement with Tony Lloyd, the shadow NI minister, you know, the one who cares about NI and the deals we agreed.
I came across a post of Joe's on Discuss Littleborough this morning, berating the many local rednecks for their promise to kill MPs etc,
"The amount of people making jokes about killing / deaths of politicians on here is disturbing. Sure it might be a joke, but normalising violence towards elected officials will only lead to more violence the murder of Jo Cox. It's even worse when I've seen people making fun of set MPs murder (saying it's a shame the bullet didn't hit Corbyn too). Whether your left, right, center or whatever, threatening violence towards people simply because you don't agree with them is immature and dangorous."
I've advised him to check his spelling. Then it can't be a picky distraction from the content. Of course the local knuckledraggers don't know he's only 14. I also advised him that Boris is the one exception, he is heading to be Dead in a Ditch without anyone else's help.

Boris has shown he needs no help at all in weakening his position. Remind me what his majority is, I have trouble counting backwards.

Maybe Corbyn should pick an election date, then keep asking for an extension........

Maybe Corbyn should pick an election date, then keep asking for an extension........ No No No! It's strategic, best called to his advantage in November not the now to benefit the Tories. The puppet master got it wrong, he and Boris thought the Labour Party would just jump at the chance without any thought. Its no great hardship to block out the Quitling wails, "it's not fair" "you're frit" "chicken" and "weak". There will be no problem if Boris negotiates the best and easiest deal ever, as he promised. I suspect that is just a tory lie though, Dominic prefers a No Deal. He's actually doing nowt, nothing meaningful has been taken to the EU. He'll have to write that begging letter to the EU, or resign. Boris has just beaten his own world record premiership record. He's now lost 3 acts of Parliament votes. He'll go down as the first prime minister to achieve nowt at all. Old confusion curse "May you live in interesting times".

I must disagree, Johnson will have achieved nothing in his 6 months as pm, where as May managed to achieve nothing in 3 years.

Yes - you are! The contempt the EU has had for the UK has been the cause of all this 'Brexit'. Your beloved EU has got people to hate it once they saw it for what it really is. Even more so now, when anyone with an ounce of sense sees how much more spite they are dishing out to a member who wishes to leave their clutches. Your post makes me think you are turning tory, it's all lies. If it's so bad why are you still living there? The wise witch won't warrant it? She doesn't want to live in poverty surrounded by little Englanders. As I have said before, I'm basically a Socialist who realises that Capitalism (the Law of Nature) is what makes the world go round and people go to work. Democracy is suspect for starters, my favoured form of control is by a benevolent dictator - but even then, is that the best solution for humans, the world and everything else? Who can say. Why are we still living here? We have played with the idea of moving to England, and those thoughts are not completely off the cards. We'll see how things go. For now we have decided that the best thing for us is to keep things as they are - I get 14 weeks a year to go boating (15 weeks this year!) - what other job offers that amount of free time? Weekends are free for me also, and public holidays. We have a nice house here with everything under control - enough firewood for the next 3 winters, and a forest around my bus garage to be felled, and we can do all that - chainsaw works, trees down, lengths into trailer, bring home, cut into logs (axe the widest ones), stack. Keeps the house warm and the electricity bill down. The only thing I can think of that touches my life as regards the EU is the obligatory 'extra education' for bus drivers, five day courses every 5 years. Before Finland joined the EU I was working at Helsinki City Transport and we had extra lessons anyway because HCT did that kind of thing of their own initiative, and not because they were told to by Brussels/Germany. I don't know how much Finland gives to the EU but as a rich country I bet more goes out to the EU than comes back in grants or subsidies from the EU. I think Finland should not have joined in the first place. It's quite boring in Finland, nowhere to go, nothing much to do, but the Internet has arrived and now the whole world is at our fingertips so there's always something to read, and as I have gotten older I appreciate the quiet roads and how few people there are around. The standard of living is generally high, good phone signal everywhere. And all in all for the time being our life here at home fits in well with being able to go boating in England. Have been dealing with firewood just now, and soon to sauna (again - yesterday evening was the first for this weekend).

If these cheap-labour types are so great and contribute so handsomely, how about they stay in their own countries where they can contribute handsomely to their own countries' economies? Fact is they're over in the UK because Brits are a soft touch and wages in the UK are much better than in countries such as Lithuania or Bulgaria. Many have no desire to 'integrate' - they are just here to earn money, sending some home so that they can retire to a big house in their home countries and live like Lords of the Manor in their village. It's just WRONG of Britain to steal qualified persons from other countries where their skills are so badly needed, all those brain surgeons and engineers and competent lorry drivers: ..not content with lowering wages for Brits, they have to smash the whole country up too!

"All those who eulogise Cox should remember her priority was never the working people of Britain… She cared more about ‘migrants’ and her precious EU than any ordinary working family in the UK… "

The amount of people making jokes about killing / deaths of politicians on here is disturbing. Gina Miller has been talking about the hate mail she has been receiving for sticking her head above the parapet. She has been threatened with sexual assault, throat cut, beheading and other stuff too ghastly to mention. Thin skinned twat. I would never discuss my private letters in public, and I wont be sending the mouthy bitch any more………
