"There was a guy on this very forum (subsequently banned) who had stayed in the same place awaiting a very special bolt for his engine - this could only be made in Outer Mongolia by a one handed, one legged Monk. He managed to stay in one place for 18 months+ and C&RT obligingly let him, then realised he was extracting the urine and he eventually took a mooring somewhere." Doesn't mention kris. I didn't mention Kris in my response either, but we all know don't we.

Only very rarely do I still have a look overthere, and I just did now because of this posting. I think that you did well in (sort of) defending Kris, and also that you made a good, but surely wasted, effort in telling some (supposedly) highly intelligent people that it's not all that difficult to use their language properly, I always find it a bit strange, but many people are used to it, on this forum too. My main interest in participating with forums (fora) is to learn to use another language better, and to learn about certain boaty things I didn't know, and inform others about the things I know of, trying to use the language as good as possible, knowing that it will never be perfect, but as long as the general ideas come over, I'm happy. Peter.

Peter. I was surprised Alan had used "of" like that. I know language changes and morphs over time, but some of the changes I find strange, they can lead to a change in the meaning or because the meaning has got lost. "Toe rag" as it is commonly written these days , is just a bit of inoffensive nonsense, whereas "Tow Rag" refers to (cotton) Mill girls using tow, raw cotton waste, as a sanitary towel. So quite an insult. I shout at the radio too when they get it wrong. Though the less times they do it the fewer I object. It's fun being a grumpy old gitππππ

Thanks for bringing this to my attention Jim, there's not a lot I'd want to say on cwdf. What interests me is that I was banned for six months in fact it still says this on my blocked account and yet two years later I'm still banned? Despite bringing this to the attention of the site crew over there, they haven't even had the decency to rely about this issue. I'd like to meet Alan Enfield and Paul c in real life because I'd have a few choice words for them to chew through.

Quote from Jim's response on that thread.
"There is a small wood behind my house, I don't want it creeping into the little common land meadow between me and the wood. It would take over the bit near my fence where gorilla gardeners have planted veg beds, fruit bushes and trees."
Gorilla gardeners?

There's some patronizing half-wit on here calling himself Broccobanks who I suspect is one the same as that mealy mouthed git PaulC over on CWDF. He denies it's him, . . but I'm not at all convinced !

I'm dogless ! Queue responses Rog ETA Just been to read the thread ... life must be pretty dull if they're having to resurrect three year old threads to create interest. There's a similarly aged thread about an old red Lightship which was stolen from Liverpool and it's rightful owner in 2016 soon to be resurrected on here, . . I do hope we're not going to be accused of being dull !
