Its been over ten years in recession now,some say we are out of it,then back in it but I would contend we are in it
and would explain anything to the contrary as " No one has any benefit in talking things down" and all said and done
the Government has nothing else to offer other than the Austerity Narrative.
I can't begin to tell you about the hate and the rage I feel about the mismanagement of this great country,at 53 years
of age you begin to think about it more while all around it becomes harder to find a forum for debate that hasn't been
moderated or even outlawed in some cases with these super injunctions etc.This I guess is the reason some of us are here
and even if we fall out from time to time, like recognises like and we all need each other.
For the working woman and man this country is barely recognisable from what it once was and nothing ever seems to be dealt
with,the cause and the answer is always beyond us the answer lays somewhere else.
Meanwhile we go from,Jungle Camps at Calais,Starbucks paying no tax,Rochdale Grooming Gangs,Strictly Come Dancing,Camerons
Investments,Floods in Carlisle,Brexit,Devolution,Closure of Steel Industry,can I ask a question? have any of these issues been bottomed
out to your satisfaction?do you see what I mean?
It seems to me that the media keeps the issues spinning relentlessly,news 24/7, an ever changing narrative,promotes perhaps unknowingly
a culture where nothing is done,do Politicians understand that if they sit on their hands long enough events will overtake any need to act
are we all just engaged in a charade,ME,YOU,THEM,

A very scattergun post, but to answer your question, Rochdale Grooming Gangs, Floods in Carlisle, and SCD have 'bottomed out' as you put it, for me at least. Devolution has rather been overtaken. Cameron's investments are a non-issue, and the rest await resolution.
But the media will persist with them all, of course. It's their raison d'etre. You don't have to take any notice or get worked up about it .

Glad they have bottomed out for you,they haven't bottomed out for the people of Rochdale or Aylebury or Oxford regarding Grooming indeed there are ongoing social work and police inquiries with reports still to be published. As for Carlisle and flooding you must think thats bottomed out because its stopped raining? I read this morning that a Senior Clergyman in Carlisle has attacked the Government for inaction and poor planning with many people 4 months later still homeless! Whats Scattergun about my post? its certainly more accurate than yours. As for Camerons Investments though I tend to think " non issue "there is a march on Downing Street today calling for his resignation so obviously an issue for some. I take issue because Government seems to be doing little,indeed the last budget lasted on 24 hours before it was changed,and the Media aid that inactivity by changing our focus of attention continuously! |

Best to get rid of your debts, live a simple life on the canal. You might still get angry about the various issues, I know I do sometimes, but life goes on unchanged really. As long as you don't buy into the 'work very hard, get a good job, get lots of nice things by borrowing lots of money then be really happy' myth you'll be just fine.

without addressing the other issues.....I think the march on Downing Street re Cameron....I think that is an example of the Faux outrage syndrome (like the one CWDF is suffering from at the moment) I very much doubt any of the marchers actually give a damn about offshore accounts, they just see it as an excuse to protest against a government that they didn't want (but an awful lot more did)

Does this media driven changing of our focus exist to serve democracy or does

democracy just as in another country it could serve a dictatorship which
on reflection we all knew anyway,but what about the inactivity of governments?
can we then agree that because the media changes the focus of our attention so quickly
it provides an acquiesce for Government to do nothing?
