Seeing as those who want brexit complain the BBC is biassed and those that want to remain say the BBC is biassed I would say that the BBC have it about right.

But I was wrong about that as well as the next one put it back and I assumed they would vote the other way. I Crashed and burned.....

The BBC is as unbiased as any other State broadcaster, Al Jazeera, Voice of Russia etc.

Genuine question....basically, can we trust the BBC? As yet I have no reason not to. Didn't the BBC repeatedly state that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction?

I haven't read a newspaper, listened to radio news or watched TV news or any other current affairs type stuff for seven or eight years but some things never change, "news" is a tool. I don't think I'm missing anything other than being willingly led by the nose. It doesn't matter how you react to an item, it's the fact your attention is on it and you are thinking about it. Somewhere, someone is controlling not what you think, but certainly what you think about. OK it's obvious they do try to influence how you react to it too, but I'm sure we all make up our own minds on here. Even Foxy. There is more to judging this output than whether it's technically telling the truth or not - it's which truth, which subject, the amount of repetitive "drumming in" a subject gets, top off the show/front page or glanced over in the name of balance or even if something gets a mention. It would be better if a bunch of philosophers were in charge, humanity might improve itself.

As yet I have no reason not to. Didn't the BBC repeatedly state that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction? No, they repeatedly said that Tony Blair stated it. Which he did. If one is to be held responsible for accurately reporting what someone said, when that turned out to be untrue, one couldn’t report anything. Especially anything a politician said.

But the bottom line is that the BBC is the propaganda arm of the UK government just as Voice of Russia is the propaganda arm of the Russian government. To suggest that it is a neutral and unbiased news reporting agency is simply nonsense.

To suggest that the BBC is the propaganda arm of the U.K. government demonstrates either breathtaking ignorance or a penchant for conspiracy theories. Have you been to Area 51 recently to see the aliens?
