Absolutely ... and the closure of elsans at Autherley and Hurlston to be 'replaced later' but never have been. That's why I wished to register a protest ... and will be watching for a positive outcome. But in fairness C&RT have promptly replied so I am hopeful. Rog Has the prompt reply been updated with anything useful yet? Just asking! met x

The elsan was closed off several months ago as I traveled north, even then the stoppage notice was old and the growth around the fence indicated that it wasn't something just put up.
Are you calling Matthew Symonds a liar? He said "temporary". "Following Matthew Symonds’ denial on Twitter that he referred to liveaboard boaters as “gits”, one of the former colleagues who overheard him say so has written the open letter below to Mr Symonds and CRT Customer Feedback. you state, via Twitter, are “certainly not something I’ve ever said”. But you did say them Matthew, and you said them twice. Twice you commented that you loved your job, ‘aside from the gits on the liveaboards’. In fact, I recollect they were the only two comments that you made specifically about your job, suggesting to me that they may have been the two most pressing things on your mind when you thought about your work. I do know that former colleagues of yours looked uncomfortably over at me when you made the “git” comment as they know I have long been planning to move onto the canal, and also know that I have close ties with members of the boating community around the Kennet and Avon and beyond. It is a derogatory comment about a section of the canal community" kanda.boatingcommunity.org.uk/an-open-letter-to-matthew-symonds-and-crt/

No CRT Elsan facility between Penkridge and Grendon unless you divert to and/or pay at a private marina …..? Water point at Wardle out of use - as is the one at Fazeley?! Newly replenished borehole at Tyrley has now run dry …..!!! I may be wrong - would be happy to stand corrected. However, it seems to be CRTs policy to erode more and more boaters' services - yet they want more boats to use the network? Where is the logic? Is there some kind of Health & Safety and/or Human Rights/Disability Access infringement going here? Making life better by water? met x It is definately carts policy to take away more and more boaters services. Making boaters use private operators faciliites. It does seem like it. But, as no-one can be bothered to do anything about this, they'll just carry on. You can always use the Elsan at a private marina and tell them to bill CRT for the charge.

Are you calling Matthew Symonds a liar? Nope, I have no wish to have my boat Sectioned 8ed. Fear tactics work on some of us!

So do we get/expect a licence discount to cover this?! Why are you asking us? Write to CRT about it. And let us know their reply.

"Tea's ready!" "Coming, Dear!"

I think it's fair comment. Loads of boat dwellers are gits. And because of the increase in the number of people living on boats mainly due to mobile phones there is a rapidly increasing number of OLD gits !
It's going to get worse before it gets better.

naughtyfox you're always mouthing off (usually in other peoples quotes) about what WE should all do ... particularly directed at lady posters here it seems. What about YOU e mailing C&RT to complain ... or better still just shut up ! I regularly e mail C&RT to make complaints and to congratulate them and their staff when they've done a good job. The e mails are about 50/50 at present ... it used to about 80% good but the current management regime seems to be moving away from supporting boaters at a rate of knots. Rog
