I'm just booking into Liverpool for my planned trips next year and it's given me a choice of pontoons...
Any suggestions as to which is best please good folk?

The one in the corner by the steps as it's the only one where you can get off at either end of the boat.

Much of a muchness really. The numbering starts from the left but I don't know what number the corner pontoon is, about 12 I guess. There are steps at each end so the highest number is closest to the other set of steps. It might be a bit quieter against the wall as you're shielded from traffic noise by the wall.

Somewhere on C&RT's web site there is a map showing the moorings and numbers. However they're all pretty much the same provided you're on the right length for your boat so the choice isn't significant. The moorings are rarely full so a swap on arrival isn't impossible too. Enjoy your stay Rog

I would go for ones further away from the road, which can be a bit noisy especially in wet weather. Road along the top of this page, so choose one down the left hand side. I guess S1 might be good if it is long enough for your boat. We had S7, quite happy with that. I wouldn’t go for S10, too near the metal steps and alongside the road (albeit, the dock water level is well below road level and so there is some screening).

I’d go for s1 or 2 given a choice. Leaves one side of the boat with open views. We had s6 earlier this year, I think along this row is best.

The only noise was from the Police Sirens, the Station being just over the road. I'm not keen on pontoon moorings where the front of the boat overhangs from a safety viewpoint. Hence S1 or S10

Hence S1 or S10 Agreed but obviously it depends on the length of one’s boat. Ours at 59’ did overhang, but not by a huge amount. I think a 50’ boat would be able to exit easily at both ends.

We had S1 this summer for our 55' boat.Great being side on & felt much more 'open'.😊 Wouldn't choose S10 myself as it's right next to the bins for the pontoons.

When we first went in 2014,there weren't any bins-you took your black bags to the end of the pontoon each morning ready for them to be picked up.

I went to Liverpool this year, I booked up online, others have booked up using the phone.
It is when you actually get there that the numbering system falls down.
It would seem that who ever does the internet booking is using a different map sheet than the person doing the phone booking. So what booking you have may be taken up by someone else!
It was also clear that CRT say that they are fully booked up, but when you enter the Docks you will see lots of empty berths!
Can I suggest you don't use the S10 berth as it is right where the winds will blow and makes that berth a very lea shored berth and you may have difficulty getting back off of it!
Have fun, i did and will go again next year if i can!
