Not one of your better posts. Even as a Man Utd fan I donโt like.

Liverpool looks quite an exciting place to go, I've never been there for a visit yet. It is really good. It has a certain reputation, but that is left over from the 1970s. We visited a lot of towns and cities on 2 month trip - Liverpool was best on a number of counts including friendliness of natives, lack of rowdy /drunken behaviour, โthings to doโ (many of them free), cleanliness (of the city centre - the canal close to Eldorian village has a very large amount of plastic in it), spectacular nature of the arrival route (past the 3 Graces etc) and yes even friendliness of CRT staff! And a lot of foreign tourists. I thought a week there might be too long, but it wasnโt. Manchester is a complete shit hole by comparison.

For some reason this morning, I thought I'd log in and see if I could book for Next years trip (1 carrying over from this year) and the return...
turns out I can but some buggers have already beaten me to S1 and S10 - 'looks like it's pontoon time for us... still, at least it's done although I wanted to go in on 26 th March and the first available isn't until 29th... not a big difference but only leaves a 1 day turn around for the 1st "proper" trip of next year... mind you no one has booked that yet so I suppose it may end up a week off anyway...

Simply brilliant isnโt it! As for March, Iโd say the chances that we are being allowed to moor there next year, are pretty slim. Covid restrictions arenโt going away next year.

Thing is, THIS time around, Hotels aren't ordered to close... and as I'm classed as an Hotel, I can be open but only to appropriate guests. Having just applied for the support available to the hospitality industry during the time my home town was on tier 2 before going into lock down, they rejected me cause "you are not ordered to close" - ... it's a complete farce. Add into the mix only go to work if you have to (and I have to ) ergo, complete and utter bollocks. Where is the Fast forward button please?

Pity you're not a wittering pensioner quaysider ... they seem the only ones happy with restrictions ... staying at home hiding whilst the work force has to carry on delivering everything to their door. Rog

Rog Down here there seems to be a large surfeit of young uns quite willing to 'have to' carry on working - some of us 'more oldies' are being pushed out of the market! Tesco - rejection, Sainsburys - rejection, KFC - rejection, McDonalds - not recruiting - I could go on and on..............

I should add - no one is to blame for the virus (in my considered opinion) - it's just a situation that we are wise to handle carefully while a cure/vaccination makes the virus far less of a threat. To those that are struggling, yes it is hard and often seems unfair, but people can rebuild from hard times - you can't if you are dead.

No "one" person, however there should have been action taken on the chinese wet markets where wild critters are sold for food. Such markets are a potential species crossing point for a range of virii. Same with Africa and ebola. I did read that the virus may have originated in guandong? bat caves where they harvest the shit for fertiliser.
