Well hope based on that someone does something to pull CRT up. That report is just nonsense as it stands No wonder locals are not happy.

I am sure when the dam was first at risk CRT said we have nothing to hide, maybe they meant nothing more to hide........ C&RT statement dated 8 August (my bold) - Following yesterday’s welcome news that everyone in Whaley Bridge can return home, we’d like to thank all the local residents for your understanding and patience this past week. Your support for our teams and the fabulous emergency services, who worked together around-the-clock to drain the reservoir and make the situation safe, has been amazing; not least in the generosity you have shown us all, with deliveries of food and all the messages of goodwill. Knowing that your support was so strong, despite your own hardship, gave everyone involved in the work such great encouragement.
Now that the reservoir has been emptied, our plans to keep it safe are in place and we start the work to plan how to repair and restore the dam. Much more information will follow from the Trust in the days ahead – for now, we just want to extend our thanks to all of you for the spirit and resolve you have shown.
Allan Leighton, Chair
Richard Parry, Chief Executive
To assist with this flow of information, I have made some information requests. Here is the latest independent inspectors report (dated just three months before the emergency). It is heavily redacted on the grounds of national security/public safety

National security? Were the Ministry of Defence hiding submarines in it?
Will Whaley Bridge residents be demanding the truth, and claiming compensation for their inconvenience? Who will be paying for the Police and emergency services and helicopters?

Every last penny of the whole cost, from the emergency response to the repair costs should be borne by useless buggers who have been shirking their responsibilities for this and everything else that was turned over to them in July 2012.
With any reasonable sort of luck it could see the end of this disastrous chapter in the history of our inland waterways.

That is fine for you, what about us poor buggers that need to pay for a licence. Cost increase of 2000% is going to hurt!
