There's a newly joined member calling herself bmw over on CWDF asking for help and advice with some fuel system problems she's got on a Perkins L4. Apparently the fuel system needs repeated bleeding, and she seems to think that the source of the trouble is fuel leakage from the injector leak-off pipes.
It's obvious that nobody over there has ever heard of or knows anything about the Perkins L4 model that she says she's got, so all they're doing is just waffling and speculating about which of the Perkins models, that they know of, that they think this new member might have, instead of giving out any useful help and advice about the engine she says she does have.
Would any TB'er who is also a current member of CWDF mind posting up some directions to over here, . . where she will get the help and advice she's so obviously in need of !
Edit to add :
The Perkins L4 was produced and sold mainly as an industrial engine back in the 1950's and 60's. It was a relatively low revving, long stroke old slogger that was always a bit reluctant to light up on a cold morning, but would run reliably from now until Domesday once you got it going. Used on pumps, gen-sets, road building/laying machinery, Fordson tractors (prior to the Fordson Major with their own 4D engine), and in early models of Massey Harris combines.
