Thats all i can say, the pull cord on my kipor snapped today. Which would be alright but you have to take the whole thing to bits to put it back on again. Im going to do it tmw. Which meant i had to run my inboard diesel. Which i dont do very often, only when welding really. I noticed thats got a diesel leak and the oil is leaking from round the dipstick. What is it with mechanical things always wanting attention?

It is a kipor generator so you can expect issues .
No good. Better to go for an old Honda or Kawasaki if you want it to work.
My favourite was the Honda EX650 but that may not live up to your highlife expectations in terms of power availability on board a boat.

We arrived at the boat last night having put the heating on remotely. On arrival in the rain, the boat wasn’t that warm and rads were cold at the top. Odd, heating has worked fine for past 8 years. Need torch to see what’s going on. Torch batteries were totally flat - torch had somehow been left on. Curses. Well that’s two, what’s the third going to be? (Transpired the header tank was full to very near overflowing, lots of air in radiators, though I’m not sure why).

Those are curses 2 and 3. Number one is being the owner of a Hudson narrow boat.
I hope you get the fire going okay.

Dealing with entropy is a bitch, living in a world with no decay would be preferable.

If i take a hammer to this kipor, it will be the end of it. Ive had it in bits before, but its all one moulded plastic case where screws do multiple things. So its a nightmare to put back together.

But it wont power this battery charger ive got at the momet. The kipor is the larger one, plus its alot quieter not to mention more economical. Ill just take it to bits, shout at it and put it back together tmw.
