I had been thinking of it but I doubt anyone would employ me.

I had been thinking of it but I doubt anyone would employ me. what’s this a mid life crisis? Your probably better off being self employed.

Re the middle levels, Cambridge, Peterborough etc, where do I find the best maps/guides and general info for cruising this coming year?

No great plans yet other than Cropredy convention but we will be able to go anywhere on the system as there can not be any outstanding works, everything will be repaired, and certainly no way there will be any water shortages after the wettest ever winter?
Is it a pipe dream?

Come on then Stabby, final plans laid yet? No, I'm not even sure when I will be able to set off yet as I have had a poor Winter earnings-wise and haven't hit my savings target yet. To compound this just a tad my HGV licence expired yesterday so I can't work at the moment so everything is in limbo at the moment while I try to work out a plan.

There used to be EA maps of the Nene and Ouse that you could download but I cant find them. Hard copies were also available free but I believe now cost..... Maps are here www.visitanglianwaterways.org/maps

Unless of course you are a prostitute operating out the Rugby area.

Come on then Stabby, final plans laid yet? my HGV licence expired yesterday 5 years' warning ! ? ! Sept '13 for my first 'professionally competent' bus licence & digi-card for tacho after the EU-directive scam came along, second set I got Sept '18. Of course I am a complete incompetent, but I haven't revealed this to my employer

Of course I am a complete incompetent, but I haven't revealed this to my employer They've had the application since Tuesday before last which was the earliest I could get it to them because Monday 10th was the earliest date I could get a medical. Because I was diagnosed with heart failure a few years ago, even though I was later undiagnosed with it the application has to go under review by the medical division and they are notoriously slow.

If there's no work for a few days and it's hard, maybe you could hitch a lift to Wakefield and Quaysider could 'take you in' ?

I don't do Facebook either 👍👍 The goba moorings are superb, some are in the middle of nowhere - often you will be in magnificent solitude. There are a fair few good EA ones, add in the GOBA ones and you will never be stuck for a brilliant mooring. If you don't have a dog a must do mooring is to drop a mud weight into Wissington Mere on the Wissey and bob about under the stars 👍 We keep up our GOBA membership even if we don't get across (like last year 😤😠🤦♂️) it's a very small sum of money for such a huge benefit to all boaters 👍

The thought of mooring with a mudweight under the stars has driven us both to another drink..roll on Spring. Thanks for the help.
