Greetings TBs
Anyone got a mechanical / manual boat horn? Feel loathed to wire one up really, I know it's not that much power and effort but if there's a mechanical hand operated one on the market I'd rather go for that but I'm struggling to find owt. I'm not entirely sold on electric car windows yet either. Anyone? T.

Only problem is, if it is readily accessible, junior crew take great delight in blowing it!

We used to have a manual Klaxon ES on our old boat. There are always some on Ebay.

I was going to suggest the same but they seem to be about 50 quid which is a lot for a horn!
I had one on one of my narrow boats the type you push down on to make it work.
There are also ones with a pull cord or chain.

I have one on a tripod, worked by spinning a handle - hardly suitable for the desired use however.

Double that Magnetman and some; just found a new one for £300! But most the ebay ones I've seen are around 100 and upwards. Doesn't have to be a klaxon then - thinking if it can pip loud enough anything would do? Seems the bugal player thinks so. Thinking I may have just opened this up for some silliness now and Mr Stabby will be along shortly...

It's louder than some of the pathetic car horns people hopelessly ring out odd sound signals with. It also provides endless hours of fun for little kids (and big kids) especially if it's blown at completely inappropriate times - I live in hope of once again meeting the idiots from the Mink Hound hunt..
