Anyone here going to stand for election to the CRT council? I ask as I’ve just received an email inviting myself and Ali to put our names forward.

I had the same email.
Do they send it out to all license holders?
I guess so.
Not my cup of tea.

We've all seen the photo either or both of you might need (who's legs are they anyway?) and I'm sure there are plenty of licence holders here who would sponsor you - including several who might contribute to your 200 word "manifesto". Good luck! met x

Considering certain other matters current at this time, 'canal or river boat licence' is an interesting choice of terminology. Even in the strange world of C&RT there is no such thing as a 'canals only licence' because, of course, the standard 'boat licence' serves as a 'pleasure boat certificate' whenever pleasure craft licensed for C&RT's canals venture on to their 'river waterways'. One has to wonder quite why the Trust chairman has chosen this particular juncture to throw yet another species of made-up 'licence' into the mix, . . Freudian slip, perhaps ?

Blind leading the blind. How people can make such silly mistakes is beyond me. But when judges of the Law make it up as they go along, who can blame 'the little people' to think what's good for the goose is good for the gander.
