Morning Andrew ..... only saw this this morning so late replying.
Very unclear drawing, doesn't help that as chewy says it misses out lots of info.
I also think that it maybe drawn wrong
if they have used the convention of the centre wire to each switch is the wiper then with both switches in position 1 Port engine will be started by battery 2
(the middle one of the three in the drg) the starboard engine will have no connection
The other two batteries are linked together but not connected to either starter motor
either the instructions you have been given are wrong or the drawing is ....... or both
In position sp/2 on both isolators both engines will start from battery 3 (furthest right on the drg) the other two batteries will be disconnected.
in position both on both isolators all the batteries are in parallel and are all connected to the starters
doesn't make a great deal of sense to me, I can't see any advantages for the way it is connected
I think you are going to have to do a bit of cable following to try and work out what he was up to
do you know which battery is the domestic ?
