OK so following my recent break in I have got to start replacing things. I had new batteries fitted 18mths ago,Trojan T105's, which I was more than happy with but they have increased by £200 since then. Are they still worth it or is there an alternative I should consider?

Blimey they are getting very expensive now!
I would be tempted to get a price or two on a pack of 2V full traction batteries.
I paid less than they want Trojans for 7 years ago on a pack of 2v cells fitted including a watering system, and they are deemed to last for twenty years if you look after em!
As an added bonus, you can take the full traction's down to 20% unlike your normal deep cycling stuff were if you take them down to 50% your killing em!
Good luck

I've used Rolls 4000 batteries. 2 X 6v blocks.
First pair was when the boat was off grid and I was hitting them with a 100acharger via a diesel generator. Killed them (or they may have been from faulty batch dropped by a forklift at the warehouse etc).
7 year warranty. It was honoured so a replacement pair which have been okay for about 6 years Big Difference is they have an easy life on a Truecharge 20i multistage battery on shore power.
Point being that the first ones -were- replaced under warranty.

Considering the amount of the claim the Insurance company have been great, they even apologised that batteries are consumables & I can only claim 50℅ I had 5, 1 starter and 4 domestic but thankfully they didn't take the starter so I guess it's not so bad.

Having switched to Trojans I’d be very reluctant to switch back to leisure batteries. I’ll be replacing them with same, or possibly lithiums. Yes unfortunately Trojan, and similar manufacturers Rolls and US, have all gone up a lot due to being made in USA and the exchange rate. Blame Brexit!

I've just checked, paid £125 for my 105AH 12v Trojan 3 years ago, best price £175 now. Ouch.

Other than the weight of the rolls batteries, to me its a no brainer ? They have a 3 not 7 year warranty.

One of the things to consider is the weight of the battery blocks. They are heavy. I installed mine in such a way to make it straightforward to lift them out with a lever hoist rather than put my back out.
One advantage of bog standard 110 leisures is they are only 25kg so a doddle to pick up.

On the plus side arguably, a bit better Capacity & a 100+ discharge cycles, obviously the warranty. After 2 years of use not abuse my Trojans were still going strong, the only neg was self discharge 10-15% if left for a month or so usually over the winter. Self discharge on the Rolls is stated at 5% I think, will double check
