Good idea, I'd support it, and encourage other Thunderboaters to do the same.

That's five. I think it said six people to put forward a nominee but do they all need to be license holders ?

Ta. So as its only 3 full license holders required to nominate. So kris can definitely go for it if he wants to given support here. I think it's an excellent idea.

Great idea, however I think it's worth finding out what influence, what could be achieved by members of the board. Is it within the remit of the board to challenge, hold to account, its employees for pushing the boundaries of the law, ignoring the use of bylaws, etc etc. All the things we see wrong. I think it should be, but best not to go in with unrealistic expectations. I'll bet its laid out in the Memorandum and Articles of the Charity, possibly available on the charity commission website. A member of Skylight Circus board once said to me "a board should be 'noses in, fingers out'. " Wise advice. Of course you won't be able to claim due and fair expenses or naughtyfox will pillory you for wasting his licence fee. Freeloading on the gravy train.

Unfortunately as I am not a licence holder I can't nominate or vote for you but good luck.
I am sure there are enough people here who could help put a winning manifesto together.
I could stand as a friend of the trust but would need 3 other friends to nominate so I won't bother.

Thanks for all the support. As i mentioned in the other thread about council elections im under no illusion about the council or its influence. I feel it is a box ticking exercise. But i feel it would at least be good to have a voice on their of someone who is concerned abou the state of the waterways in relation to how it effects boaters. I think one of the ,main concerns is the removal of services, Anyway ill start to think about a manifesto and then ill post it here for people to help write it.
