I wouldn't touch him with a bargepole.

I wouldn't touch him with a bargepole. That’s lucky, because touching kris with a barge pole would be common assault.

I wouldn't touch him with a bargepole. They are rare on proper boats and proper boaters. I can see why you might have one. I have a Long Shaft.

As promised here is the second draft.
Hello my name is Kris Nadin, i liveaboard an 86 year old ex working boat that im patiently restoring. Ive been on the water and worked on the water in various ways over the years, including being a tug skipper on maintenance contracts, a commercial fisherman and crewing on yatchs. Ive even worked for crt before now. I feel these different perspectives have given me a good overview of different users of the waterways needs. In my opinion boaters interests are not being represented at the moment. The issues that concern me the most are the removal of facilities, the continued maintenance issues, the progressive sellling off of public assets to the private sector and the needs of elderly and disadvantaged boaters arent being dealt with adequetly. Id like to see the continuation of the waterways as a navigable network open to all and would work to make sure that our generation isnt the one that witnesses the demise of that. Regards kris
Anyway feel free to make suggestions, im happy with it generally but its a bit clunky in places.

I would clarify the following to add interest -
Hello my name is Kris Nadin, i liveaboard an 86 year old ex working boat that im patiently restoring. Ive been on the water and worked on the water in various ways for over xxx years, including being a tug skipper on maintenance contracts, a commercial fisherman and crewing on yatchs. Ive even worked for crt before now as a xxxx.. I feel these different perspectives have given me a good overview of different users of the waterways needs. In my opinion boaters interests are not being represented at the moment. The issues that concern me the most are the removal of facilities, the continued lack of routine maintenance issues, the progressive sellling off of public assets to the private sector and the needs of elderly and disadvantaged boaters arent being dealt with adequately or fairly. Id like to see the continuation of the waterways as a navigable network open to all and would work to make sure that our generation isnt the one that witnesses the demise of that.
added - sorry, forgot to say it sounds genuine and is not full of waffle and spin - so I like it, and will vote for you

"Ive even worked for crt before now"
The tone of that comes across as wrong to me.
I think the word even makes it a negative statement in my view.
