Years ago President was stuck at a bridge, I squeezed past and gave it a tug off! All I can say is that even with it butty on tow President is fast she chased me up the cut for about fifty yards before they slowed her down, I thought she had got me at one point but I managed to escape. They gave me some stuff and I had a play with the very nice steam engine as a reward A tug off !π― I had not realised how filthy my mind is...

All rather coarse.
I find the fact they gave him some stuff quite rude to be honest.

It always amuses me that many dress up (the women as well as the men) in corduroy kecks, braces, neckerchiefs and hats, and yet seem singularly incompetent at boat handling. The replica tug Adamant, with some bearded old dodderer on the tiller, rammed us at Rose narrow boats, despite a young bloke on the bow shouting repeatedly at him "back up there's a boat". He hit us about six feet back from the bow. Fortunately Sam Cole built good solid shells and no damage was caused. Rog It's supposed to be bad luck having women looking like women on President...Mmmm sounds like they have enough bad luck without the cross dressing.

A few years ago, there used to be a pair under the livery of Captain Cargo. After waiting behind them at the weir lock on the Oxford for 20 mins, I walked up and closed the bottom paddle so that the lock could fill. A cloth capped and neckerchiefed individual laughed embarrassedly and said" Who'd be a working boatman eh?" I replied " Not you if that's the way you work" He turned on his heel with a snort and never spoke again at any of the locks to Banbury.

Still ongoing, I see! Goodness me. He's back and not very conciliatory... "What are you on about, you tosser? Come out from behind your anonymity and say who you are. You're just a keyboard troll with no interest in the truth. You make me sick" "Come on say what you mean, say who you you are. I'll add you to the court papers." "Ill informed gossip from anonymous people like you who know f*ck all about boating but make accusations with out seeking the other side of the story. " "It was an attempt to regain control of the boat. And why had I lost it? Because I'd been in full reverse and the boat was twisting, caught by the oncoming weir stream. Not what it says in the video, though." www.canalworld.net/forums/index.php?/topic/103531-i-never-did-like-steve-haywood/page/25/

Up north his attitude wouldn't be visible, it would have been kicked out of him at a much earlier age.
