I fuckin hate Christmas. I'm not religious so it means nothing to me. I feel sad for those who feel forced into getting into debt by spending hundreds or thousands on presents, and those who virtually force feed themselves with assorted shite, for no reason whatsoever, given that most people in this country don't believe in God either.
I'm looking forward to it being over, it's a massive stain on my year.

Don't like the hype but I have xmas day and boxing day with my sister (who I see far too infrequently) and that I thoroughly enjoy.
My sister has done Christmas dinner for the family since the death of my Father (Lord help me 44 years ago !!!) Gradually over the decades the numbers at the table have got fewer and now there is just the two of us.

Whilst im not big into christmas, i do like sitting down for a meal with my family. But this christmas in november rubbish is ridiculous and commercial bullshit. It should be for two weeks in december. I find i cant watch much TV at this time of year, as the adverts are nauseating.

Now - I see they have nicked the first 1 second from The Grinch movie: and this.... created by the adam&eveDDB agency - who are obviously a bunch of thieves with no imagination of their own. Boo! Let's hope Ron Howard and Universal Pictures sue the pants off them. I mean, it is Christmas!

"Released this morning, the two minutes and thirty seconds ad is based around a little girl and her friendship with an excitable young dragon named Edgar, who almost derails festivities with his fire-breathing excitement." "A full range of Edgar merchandise is available, including a £15 cuddly toy, a Waitrose & Partners No.1 12 Months Matured Christmas Pudding for £8, as well as Waitrose Edgar cupcakes, 'Chocolate Edgars' and a £1.50 gingerbread biscuit." www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2019/11/14/john-lewis-2019-christmas-advert-new-campaign-excitable-edgar/

I had 2 grim Christmases in Wales so last year decided not gonna do the family thing again..or not for a while... Christmas is more than a couple of hours on the day itself and for those alone and ill it can be pretty depressing. Several days over the festive season passed without seeing or talking to another person. This year I'm on a cruise and gonna take part in every tacky Christmas game out... Gonna do the carols/mince pies and whatever..oh and dance away the night New Year.. The rubbish few weeks that Ive gone through here I am going to put behind me....it'll still be there when I return
I may hate the hype I may hate all that they put on for us but it has to be better than what I went through here. If this fails next thought is to volunteer at one of those Charities.
