Hempstead by Holt. Lovely place. She bought it in the sixties for 4 grand. Lots of good memories from there. All the beaches Holkham, Cley, Blakeney, Wells next the Sea, Cromer. She has always been a spinster no children of her own so managed to get the three of us in the back of her vw beetle and do good adventures. I'm blessed to have her as a relative. lovely area..we used to holiday there quite often as kids

Strange to be able to sit and watch the sunset over the sea on the East coast .

Well that's my new title because on Sunday night my dogs pulled me to investigate something which turned out to be a tiny hoglet, it only weighed 194gms which is well below the survival weight of 400gms to 500gms. Phil Looks like a happy Christmas for the wee bairn.

My friend with hedgepig cam has a couple of extra Christmas pressies off me(as well as her proper gifts).A little knitted hedgehog from the Stourbridge open weekend/ boat gathering & a minihog candle. The candle is made from recycled candle wax from Audlem church near where we moor. She's heard all about our Thunderboat hedgehog hero & loves the updates.

Another week, another 'arry update . Had to double check today as 'arry weighs in at 442gms which is a massive gain. Guess that as he gets bigger his weight gain is progressively bigger too. I love the way he chunters at me when I feed him, Phil

I love the way he chunters at me when I feed him, Phil I reckon you are going to miss him when you have to let him go Oh for sure, I will be so worried about him and how will he cope for food etc, I feel so sorry that he has had to be "locked up" but do realise it's been for his own good. I'd like to think he will stick around but accept that he is a wild animal and should be free, I've only been his custodian by a lucky chance of fate , Phil

Loads seem to be successfully hand reared and released judging by these postings I see on FB. Hopefully you can find him a nice big garden for his big first steps out on his own...oh is he a he?....

'Arry update, hard to believe another week has passed, we took down the decorations and put them away for another year, that's always a bit sad, we tried to be methodical with lights etc in the hope they come out untangled. Anyway 'arry weighed in at ......wait for it....... 504gms He is getting a big boy that's for sure. Phil

Thinking about the Spring and 'arrys impending release, today I contacted Cambs Wildlife Care and explained 'arrys story and the need I have to make use of their release pens, the answer was "of course you can, they make sure that they have soft release and have the company of at least one other hog. They also said if I got them a poo sample they could check him out,...nice!! Phil
