I liked the coal boat photo ... just a straight photo of boats doing their thing. Does that photo not have a filter applied or some sort of processing 'adjustments' applied - colours and a few other things mean it doesn't look like a 'straight' photo to me.

Any photo taken with an iPhone etc has some degree of digital processing done automatically and transparently to the user at the time of taking the shot. This is one reason why modern smartphone pics look so good.

My preference in make-up is, that it is applied in such a way that its presence is barely noticeable and in no way detracts from, but rather enhances the subjects natural beauty.
I feel the same way about photo effects.
Were you genuinely interested, or merely picking a fight ... if the latter, sorry to disappoint.

To me the effect is very noticeable (I genuinely do have an interest in photography and how others see photos) - the effect is even more noticeable (in my eyes) than Foxy's photo which (this time) could have been a superb capture of the actual natural effects.

Was much processing done in light room? Genuine question.

Jolly good. It looks like a simple photo to me ... autumn on the canal ... coal boat delivering ... very evocative and tells a story to me rather than just a snapshot in time. That's why it was my choice ... though clearly my photo was better Rog

I think Donkey must have passed out last night - he forgot to remove the two or three votes he gave me from his socks-puppets.
