Quality bit of ‘Humblebragging’ there...Im impressed!👍 I'd never heard that word before and had to look it. Too busy driving and shagging ‘fancy looking inner tubes’ to be ‘Down with the kids’ see! 😉

In rugby a video review would take place, but the decision would stand unless there was CLEAR unambiguous evidence that the decision was wrong. Seems a fair way to decide things to me. Thanks for giving it the time Mr Stabby ... after all there are other 'rising' issues you could have focussed on Rog

I see there are now just 2 without a vote..... Time for someone else to jump from Foxys Why? to be TB politically correct, or to be fair to those without a vote, or perhaps just another TB game, and thus meaningless with regard to the outcome. I'm not sure I understand your meaning.... I just thought it would be nice if everyone got a vote...

Yes but you were referring to a lack of time to get something done. Practicable seems to incorporate a time element. Practical is whether it is effective, realistic. Practicable is whether it can be done given certain constraints. We need somebody with a superior mind and a vast intellect who went to a proper school, possibly with some considerable knowledge of classical Greek matters to give us a judgement on this. If only I could think of someone like that. I agree with MM in this instance. Obviously both words have the same etymology. I am practical(1) because I can fix things, for all practical(2) purposes they will work after I’ve tinkered with them. If you can’t fix the important thing, you should “get a man in” to fix it as soon as reasonably practicable(3). There are probably more variations, and there is an element of overlap.

Why? to be TB politically correct, or to be fair to those without a vote, or perhaps just another TB game, and thus meaningless with regard to the outcome. Perhaps the entries should have been anonymous? Sometimes an entrant's name attached to the photo might make others think .........… differently? met x eta - isn't much of everything (here, there or anywhere) usually meaningless to the eventual outcome? I voted right at the start as the picture 'jumped out' at me.Still love it.There are others I liked as well, but this one just drew me in.

Perhaps the entries should have been anonymous? Sometimes an entrant's name attached to the photo might make others think .........… differently? It's difficult to see how they could be anonymous really, since members entered them by posting them in an earlier thread. Most people would remember who had posted which photo, but in any event I doubt it would make any difference to the result as most, if not all, folk seem to have voted for the photo, not the member. In any event, you have to appreciate that I am working 50-60 hours a week at this time of year and so had to organise the competition in such a way that it could be done in as short a space of time as was reasonably practical. In all, I'm pleased with the way the competition is going but would of course appreciate feedback as to whether it could be improved. It's pretty much perfect, cheers. One thing that could be considered is the show results after the poll is locked option. Keeping the results of the poll secret until voting is over.

Quality bit of ‘Humblebragging’ there...Im impressed!👍 and unfortunately it tends to restrict the time available for more important matters, such as organising the Thunderboat photo competition. I did offer!

By taking one of the Fox's, because he has more than he needs? Yes...he will still win but not by an overwhelming majority but a comfortable margin.... Then it will be just like the Brexit referendum and all the losers will be demanding a second voting.

Yes...he will still win but not by an overwhelming majority but a comfortable margin.... ...edit to add that if by Christmas eve there are still two posters without votes you will have an agonising choice, and the loser will know it. If you haven't already done so I'd vote now if I were you. Patty will have to have a 'split vote' and give each just half-a-vote! You are painting yourself into a corner, Pats!

Voting is still open until 6pm on christmas eve ... will we break 40 active members ? There has been nothing to stop TBers advertising this site and trying to attract new members. TB has already changed somewhat to what it was three years ago. I still have TB ads to put up in corner shop windows / noticeboards, and must make more of an effort this Christmas. Someone could always take out an ad in Horse and Hounds.

mine seems to have grown as well gone up to 4 (Lord you have to be so careful with this lot around) Surprising, when I entered it I wondered if it was the right picture in a predominantly canal orientated forum .... but I liked it and am quite proud of the composition. It has done better than I expected. Ha!!! I see mine has reduced again to two deffo someone playing silly burgers

People will find this place in their own time and for their own reasons ... like we did.
Forum's are very much a minority interest, even amongst the group any forum is ostensibly around.
My comments weren't about seeking to 'pump' membership numbers up, but rather to better understand how many active members we have, that's all.
