Took me a few seconds but I spotted it in the end. the only one that I'll miss is Maplin I'm surprised you said that. Maplin used to be a good source of components but it turned into another nasty gadget shop, with ignorant staff who couldn't distinguish between a capacitor and a switch. come to think of it, they were not unlike Labour in their dying days ......................

I imagine Maplins would say that they had little choice but to attempt to survive by diversifying. Electrical and electronic components are items which are perfect for the internet retail model, with fast and cheap shipping and massively lower overheads for suppliers. So it's kind of ironic that a business founded on electronic high-tech was eventually killed off by it.

Although it forgot it's roots, it still stocked a lot of components when you needed some for a quick repair. The range of components was still fairly good but what used to piss me off was the fact they never kept more than a couple of every item ........ I remember wanting half a dozen 1N4001's and coming out with two each of 4001's, 4002's and 4003's . It was the same with transistors, if you wanted a dozen bog standard NPN's, something like a BC107 you ended up by having to go through the bloody data sheets to end up with enough near equivalents to do the job. Trouble was R.S. was miles away and if it was posted to me I would have to drive miles to a mates or a relations house to collect the parcel .... days wasted !!!

We are down to the final 3 candidates and it looked to me that the only one who seemed to be getting any air time was Rebecca Long-Bailey. So I have been been watching their performances at the hustings online. I have never voted Labour but do believe that the country needs a strong opposition who can take the government to task. I must say that I am very impressed by Lisa Nandy. She speaks very well, she is saying the things that people want to hear, and she seems very level headed. I think having a female leader would do Labour a lot of good.

I must say that I am very impressed by Lisa Nandy. She speaks very well, she is saying the things that people want to hear, and she seems very level headed. I think having a female leader would do Labour a lot of good. Let's have a quick look at her: "another remainer-for-a-Brexit constituency MP who has decided she would be prepared to revoke Article 50" "Plays to the crowds and is certainly a fuckwit graduate of yet another UK Varsity churning out conditioned replacements for real people." "Lisping pie eater. Litha is another of the frustrated failed ex National Students Union reps." "This short tongued traitor needs deselecting by her constituents (who voted overwhelmingly to leave the EU) Listen to your constituents or find another job" "Spends more time on the telly than she ever does with her constituents up in Wigan" "Yet another leftie clone who can’t do her hair or dress properly. Next time you’re watching BBC Parliament, take a look at the female Labour and SNP members, most of them are ill attired with bad hair. One of the worst offenders is Kirsty Blackman who attends the House dressed as a pixie. Since they all look like they rolled out of bed and put yesterday’s outfit on, purchased from the sale rail at Sainsbury’s, I can’t take them seriously."

Maplins is back; mail order only, I think. Not sure how successful they'll be ; lot of competition from eBay sellers.

"Okay, well this morning I woke up and declared myself as a dark key (even though I am not). Therefore I demand reparations from Britain’s Colonial Past. I am a victim! Tomorrow, I will wake up as a woman (even though I am not), and demand to have a good pension, and to retire at 60 rather than 65 or whatever age men have to retire. As a woman I demand equality, except when it doesn’t suit. I am a victim! On Wednesday morning, I will wake up as a gender-fluid (even though I am not) because I really don’t know what I have planned given that Wednesdays are a bit boring. So I want the best of both worlds. I am a victim! For Friday, I will wake up as a Gay (even though I am not) because I believe Gays get discounts in the local night clubs. Bigots say this is discrimination against Straights, but I disagree because I am victim! Vote for me as Labour Leader – I am your flexible friend!"

.... at last .......... something from the fox that I can empathise with....... have a virtual putty medal
................... of course it's wrong to take the piss out of a speccy china doll that is worked by the great ventriloquist Mrs Tabby with her tiny hand up Bex's skinny neck.

Let's face it, none of labours leadership contenders will be electable, and that will make it difficult to put forward new mp's at a future GE. Labour are set to be a very small opposition, and quite possibly will not form a government in this decade. The longer they stick with this momentum shit, the deeper the hole.

Strange how there's a very vociferous group who appear constantly in fb, and other social media, still fighting the lost cause of the Corbynites, as if the general election never happened ... one of my nephews being one of those pushing the stuff.
I'd hoped the g.e. result would cause a complete re examination of the party's platform, not produce more of the same.
