Strange how there's a very vociferous group who appear constantly in fb, and other social media, still fighting the lost cause of the Corbynites, as if the general election never happened ... one of my nephews being one of those pushing the stuff. I'd hoped the g.e. result would cause a complete re examination of the party's platform, not produce more of the same. Rog Yes they do seem to miss the point. I guess they are quite thick and will elect the post-transition Rebecca (who used to be called Jeremy before the gender dysphoria treatment). And once again lose big time. As has been said, whilst I’m not a labour voter, it isn’t good if there is no viable opposition. We currently have this problem in Scotland with the SNP vs those other parties whose leaders I can’t even name, ever since Ruth Davidson left the scene to have babies.

Rog After decades of complaining that labour had been hijacked by tory Blair, many people who regarded themselves as politically unrepresented were sucked into the Corbyn dream, probably without reading the small print or possibly without caring too much about it. Many have seen the light even to the extent they voted Tory but the hard core are fighting to retain control of the Labour ship. Reasonable people can't argue with them because they are deaf and blind to a reality they can't accept. Pretty funny really, one day they'll realise what fools they're making of themselves.

The one thing I can't take issue with regarding the 'new Labour' brand, was their claim from the outset to be seeking power and doing what it takes to achieve it.
The problems developed post 1997 and the start of things 'could only get better'.
Ideology without power is meaningless don't you think ?
I do hope the party don't select Long Bailey, a sort of Corbyn-lite in a dress.

I guess they are quite thick and will elect the post-transition Rebecca (who used to be called Jeremy before the gender dysphoria treatment). And once again lose big time. Focus on Rebecca: "The reason why I wouldn’t want her to represent me is the fact that she goes out of her way to inform everyone that her Catholic faith is the most important thing in her life. Every opinion she has and every decision she makes is governed by her religious beliefs. No-one who allows their every thought and action to be ruled by a fantasy should be allowed to have influence over other people’s lives." "Yes, the Catholic Church. The absolutely MINTED, Catholic Church that espouses helping the poor and that we all give to help said starving, sick poor, while they sit on a pile of cash in the Vatican and fill their churches with ornate gold chattels and other spoils. And a lefty socialist like this twat says they are all right by her. You couldn’t make this shit up." "Long-Bailey – stood as a candidate in 2014 explaining she had been working as a solicitor for the NHS for ten years. She became a solicitor in 2007. It sounds like she studied at the Diane Abbott school of maths. Either that or she is just a fucking liar." " “…. working as a solicitor for the NHS for ten years” is also bending the truth to breaking point. In fact she was a solicitor at law firms Halliwells, Pinsent Masons and Hill Dickinson, where she specialised in commercial law, commercial property, NHS contracts and NHS estates. Hardly working ‘for’ the NHS. More like working for a private firm(s) specialised in fleecing the NHS and the UK taxpayer." "It’s not even clear as to whether she is even fully qualified. Reading about her, it’s said she completed “various part-time law conversion and solicitors’ courses.” Sounds like those postal courses you can sign up with at Hogwarts University." "She’s got form for this sort of thing: ‘My dad, Jimmy, worked on the Salford docks and I grew up watching him worrying when round after round of redundancies were inflicted on the docks.’ Ms Long-Bailey, 40, was born in September 1979, meaning she was two years old when the docks were closed in 1982!"

I found this and thought it quite accurate:
"Welcome to Boristan.
By the many, for the few.
You voted in a lying, conniving, backstabbing toff, and you are going to reap the rewards. Or rather, he and his chums will reap the rewards.
The previous thirty or so years have been an experiment, to see how much the populace will take. You have proven that you will let yourselves be lied to and be dry-shafted, and ask for more, as long as "celebrity goggle box on jungle ice reality" is on the box, and you can stick yourselves into ever spiraling debt to "buy" the latest iPhone and car...
That part of the experiment having concluded as a success, now is the time for them, to grab what they can, and siphon it off abroad, and leave you in 5 years with the remnants of a completely ruined society.
Strap in, it's going to be a rough ride."

I thought you had your own thread for this sort of mindless piffle ? Rog I do think Foxy makes a good point. Since the election we have had Boris on a free holiday. The floods where he is no where to be seen. Priti Patel has just suggested that we have 8.4 million people, who are not economically active, available to do carrot picking etc, so we no longer need immigrants. Well she can knock Ali and me off that list. We are not economically active and we are not picking her dinner for her either. Boris is not the saviour that he is portrayed as by many.

The problems developed post 1997 and the start of things 'could only get better'. Blair made a monumental error in lying to the country. There is no question. But the labour party under Blair oversaw a vibrant economy that the majority were more than happy with while the sun was shining, and which had the good grace to channel more cash into public services than any other government since Clement Atlee's tenure. In fact, such was the economic success of the time that all the Labour haters didn't even notice. It was Gordon Brown who removed the restrictions placed on the London stock exchange following the economic collapse of 1929. It would be nice to be able to blame the sub-prime disaster squarely on Wall St, but any such attempt would be bollocks. Maybe Blair's Labour party was a watered-down socialism that was more middle-ground than left, but it worked. More than a few economies, among them Finland, have long-since worked out that a liberal-socialist approach works well. Long-Bailey is the next chapter in the recent history of Labour party disasters. It is incredibly painful to see that Labour has learned nothing from its recent humiliation. Such is the nature of dogma.

Labour, the once proud party of Attlee, has now become a stench filled pathetic shaking hooded heap wedged in a political sewer, forming nothing more than an impediment that blocks the flow and natural expulsion of noxious waste!
L is for Labour
L is for Losers

Can anybody point to anything truthful he's said?

Can anybody point to anything truthful he's said? Ah well you see, he's busy at no10, where people like you and Corbyn helped to put him. Why should he bother with the BBC? Most there are not unlike you, full of crap and thick as shit. Why should he drag himself down to the depths you and your ilk trudge around in. You need to face facts, even your strongest labour constituents voted for boris, because they knew it was the sensible decision to make. Labour is finished for a very long time, simply because it thrives on stupidity, ignorance and arrogance.
