Does anyone have any incredibly exciting activities planned for 2020?
Bearing in mind it is a new year, a new decade and also the 21st year of a new millenium.
Go for it. Carpe Diem innit.

I'm going to demolish Blackfriars Bridge. Properly, this time? Not like the last half hearted effort! Are you going to file a proper incident report to the PLA, this time. These encumbrances to navigation need removing.

These encumbrances to navigation need removing. I'm going to invite Tony along for the day to undertake the formalities as he has considerable experience in dealing with navigation authorities.

As it happens I am planning to go under Blackfiars bridge by boat approximately 67 times this year so our paths may cross In and out of London like a man with a 37 year old girlfriend

I understand that some like to plot and plan, and that there is enjoyment to be gained from hope and expectation. But we'll be back on board on Thursday, setting off for whatever we encounter, no expectations or significant plans. We intend to enjoy the moment, and will no doubt bore you with occasional details. Last years planning didn't work so we'll busk it this year. How exciting's that Rog

Wishing you a good road ahead, Rog, and hope all's well with the boat when you return.
Isn't there some famous quote about life and plans? I'm sure one of our internet savvy members will enlighten us soon ….
My usual answer to the inevitable towpath question "Where are you going?" is invariably "whichever way the wind blows".
Hope to breeze into you both soon.

Have you seen the new sign in Reading at the mouth of the Kennet & Avon which says: 'Do Not Proceed up 'ere Until the End of July' ?

My usual answer to the inevitable towpath question "Where are you going?" is invariably "whichever way the cobwebs blow". "There is nothing at the end of any road better than may be found beside it."

Like Roger Ali and me are intending to just head out this year with no particular destination. Have thought of a couple of places but not sure where we will end up. It’s what we did for years when we used to motorbike around Europe, just see where you end up.

That is not what I said, as you well know.
Please don't start that puerile manipulation of other people's posts again.
I appreciate your interest and participation in this forum (well, sort of) but misquoting and - as ever - personal - piss taking aren't really necessary contributions.
Glad you enjoyed your holiday.

eta - addressed to Foxy's rubbish - sorry - couldn't demean myself to quote the misquote

Two of the results I quite like; “If you don't know where you are going, you'll end up someplace else.”
“Life is what happens to us while we are making other plans.”
Or the opposite; “If you don’t know exactly where you’re going, how will you know when you get there?”
