Hiya..home again... Lots to say but will try not to waffle on and bore everyone. However just maybe with all the grim going on a bit of good stuff wouldn't go amiss. I've learnt the Argentine Tango, Paso Doublet, Rio Bachata, and many more dances practised..and waltzed my way around S America. Pink cocktail (nope dunno wot they were) evening with 2 other ladies fab fun with a line of drinks just waiting.....my no alcohol rule set aside.... Internet on board absolute rubbish and when off ship I decided I wouldn't join the rest of them hovering in port areas to get free wi fi.To much to see n do and I've wandered through streets decorated with incredible 'street art' avoiding (mostly) areas not wise to investigate. Gained a few lectures from fellow passengers which I ignored. OK so in hindsight maybe Ive very extremely lucky particularly one port where crew member had his neck slashed, another person had a chain ripped off and a lady mugged. In the market an incident when the tour bus got there but I had walked from the ship, left that area just before and headed up to find a 'piano staircase'..I ended up in a street cafe with locals who tried to persuade me to 'adopt' a dog. I've kayaked in Caribbean, gone horse riding in Patagonia, cycled in Lima and seen the most amazingly spectacular gardens in Barbados and visited an aviary in Cartagena where macaws very tame. My shoe laces undone where I returned to the port by 2 macaws who first tried to steal my ice cream. Fell in love with lizards then pelicans then sloths then penguins then iguanas before coming back full circle to lizards. I played a drum at a carnival warehouse. Learnt Ukulele(sort of) attended gin making class and took part in drama(my yappy dog impersonation just ace..says me) Not done Twitter or Face Ache...Freedom from social media. I'm back on board the good ole thunderboat Corona Virus followed us until just before La Coruna when Spain went into lockdown....then we learn all future cruises cancelled and they emptied the ship shops and closed them all down. The staff devastated as no doubt a lot of them will be unemployed. Very sad end to the most amazing trip. I will post some photos when I get round to putting them on the computer. Didn't mix much cos didn't need to, ate alone cos don't do the restaurant. Cruising safe for solo women u don't have to be part of the herd. I did what I wanted and without a doubt I've seen some of the most beautiful sights of my life. I would go back to Patagonia and Costa Rica oh and the Falklands. Coming back to the craziness here a bit of a shock. Youngest son collected me so didn't have the trains to deal with. I wrote a travel journal which will help keep these and many more memories alive. Above just a fraction of a unbelievable few months just living life for me.

Wow sounds like an absolutely fantastic and epic trip. Iām just a little bit jealous, but then again who would want to trade all the excitement of Brexit and Coronavirus for a boring old cruise....... ..... ..... MEE!

Thank you to those who have posted such nice comments on this thread... I'll be dining on this trip for months. I was very close to cancelling due to family stuff but soooooooo glad I didn't. I did join in (as u do..or as 5 of us did) the Crossing the Line Ceremony(twice) and got to kiss a dead fish before being chucked fully clothed in the pool....

This loo roll thing. I blame women. Every woman I've lived with uses 100x as much as men do.
Following that indisputable logic, it must be women doing the panic buying generally.
More "evidence" - This forum appears to compose mostly men who claim NOT to be playing the panic buying game.
I rest my case.

I suspect that loo rolls may be perceived as a substitute for Kleenex tissue and the like.

there r boxes of tissues for sale..... no paracetamol in any shop cept in local chemist whose upped price fourfold....I didn't buy, fresh all the local shops i went in told me they now delivered and ask me to phone in orders..methinks shopping in shops will become thing of the past.. in the bakers a woman accused me of invading her 'safe space'..tis a world fast changing... no -ne wants cash but card only... anyroads bin out there now in safe n snug. Declined to fetch grand daughter from school, son gone. Will direct them both to hand sanitisers on their return..by sanitiser I mean soap n water as obviously coming to the party late means I've missed out on the hand gel.
