Dennis the even BIGGER Menace! Met Office RAISES threat levels of 1,200-mile wide storm on warpath to Britain this weekend when 75mph winds and rain will cause fast-flowing floods and transport chaos!!"Severe amber weather warnings have already been issued for many parts of the UK this weekend, including amber warnings for rain in south west England, southern Wales, north west England and south east England." I like that. 'Severe amber'. Isn't that usually known as 'red' ? Or perhaps it just a shade down. Today we are painting in pastels... www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8003179/Met-Office-RAISES-threat-levels-1-200-mile-wide-storm-warpath-Britain.html

Strangely where we are, the forecast was for 40 plus mph winds from noon Saturday to 10pm Sunday ... but now it's showing just noon until 6pm Saturday, and a couple of hours in the night. Still a very wet weekend though. Hope quaysider will be okay against the Stanley Ferry aqueducts. Rog

We had one quite impressive squall and Andy's marina flooded last time so I'll wait and see this time. I really do hope that the parts of the infrastructure that didn't quite fall apart last time, there must be some, can stand the onslaught.

Happy that we are safely tucked up along the Ashby. No trees to near, pubs to walk to and plenty of coal. Two nice thick steaks in the fridge for tonight. This with a glass of red, stove glowing brightly and Springsteen cd playing loud. Happy valentines to those that do it and happy days for those who don’t.

She knows I don't believe in that rubbish. Valentine's Day, Friends' Day, Father's Day, Mother's day, Granddad's Day, Granma's Day, Squirrels' Day and Dandelions' Day. However, thanks for the reminder - I will keep my eye out in the next few days for something nice for her to show I appreciate what she does for me. She was a good catch, and has tolerated me for... blimey!.... 15 years!! I know it's nice to get little presents.
