Is that all poor Pirrko gets for valentines day? Not even a bunch of reduced price wilted flowers from the garage. She knows I don't believe in that rubbish. Valentine's Day, Friends' Day, Father's Day, Mother's day, Granddad's Day, Granma's Day, Squirrels' Day and Dandelions' Day. However, thanks for the reminder - I will keep my eye out in the next few days for something nice for her to show I appreciate what she does for me. She was a good catch, and has tolerated me for... blimey!.... 15 years!! I know it's nice to get little presents. Yeh yeh! Scots genes.

Strangely where we are, the forecast was for 40 plus mph winds from noon Saturday to 10pm Sunday ... but now it's showing just noon until 6pm Saturday, and a couple of hours in the night. Still a very wet weekend though. Hope quaysider will be okay against the Stanley Ferry aqueducts. Rog I've moved a day early... currently nestled in a gap in the long term moorings (opposite my old one as it happens) that's up for auction - currently at 2800 but doesn't end until 20 something... I'll be gone by then . I DO have my waders (a gift from a now retired boating friend) to the ready as rather than wind, it's going to be rain that cause the problem. Roll on 1st March (assuming the river lets me out) when I set sail on my pre-season cruise out of here to hang around away from rivers until guests begin arriving in early April. Got talkin to a couple today who are moored up at Broad cut - they are trying to get a mooring down here... bit of an exodus by the sounds of things... can't say as I blame them... it's forever flooding up there - even with the scaffold poles down,(which weren't high enough last weekend apparently) it's still a very dangerous place to be... at some point, the little slither of land between the river and broad cut bottom lock WILL end up gone and that'll be an end of day scenario.

Miserable rainy day here. There's as much rain predicted for Storm Dennis as for Storm Ciara but the problem if of course that this time around the ground is already saturated so I can see more flooding on rivers this time.

Horrible morning ... but the forecast is shortening the length of bad weather ... all day today and into the night, but tomorrow is now mostly rain and 20 mph winds, and Monday's looking pretty good Rog

After Mr Stabby 's finished with it perhaps Rog Strangest comment of the evening. There's no point to a joke if you have to explain it ... but here goes Mr Stabby is so named because of his huge weapon, and penchant for using it... therefore she only wants your body after he's finished with you ... cut you up ... insurance claim ... it must be the language barrier. Rog
