There are certain elements to this story that I find hard to reconcile as true. But understanding how stupid some pleasure seekers can be, anything is possible. Hope all the agencies send him their bills but I supppose that it never happens.

How can you erect a tent in 'a small rowing boat'? Even a Hilleberg Akto will have a hard time fitting into one.

Is that a rowing boat? I don't think so!! Anyway, slightly bizarre - why would someone go to the trouble? Doesn't look like the best of places to sleep. Affected by the wind? Vango tents seem to be OK - Scottish brand.

It seems a bit unwise to tie up a boat using shoelaces when a storm is forecast. Even a small boat. I'm sure Jim would be able to castigate the owner about the unruly state of the head rope.

Is that a rowing boat? I don't think so!! Does that appear to be an important point to you? Anyway, slightly bizarre - why would someone go to the trouble? A more popular choice than you think. The example shown was a home-made affair but very well done. Mine is the more traditional boom tent. It could stand much more weather than a hooped design, but you get much more room that way.Doesn't look like the best of places to sleep. Affected by the wind? I sleep like a baby on board (sleeping bag in a bivvy bag on a insulation mat of the partially inflating type, although a couple of times I just curled up on the sole. A drysuit is a wonderful bit of kit.

"Does that appear to be an important point to you?" - Yes. It also seemed important for you to report it. I want to see a tent in a rowing boat.

It was quite funny in a way though to be fair. He obviously didn't mean it in a bad way. Plus of course one must always congratulate those who can spell complicated words correctly.

I want to see a tent in a rowing boat. This any good? Admittedly probably not the Mudway river. I suspect that may be on the Thames and not during a storm.

I'm not so sure Andrew
I am still making up my mind about Nemesis ..... anyway He's dead on the mark with tents on small boats. it's a very old traditional low tech boating scene ..... Myself and a school friend camped in a small open boat under a boom tent. Quite comfortable
