Was it a plastic £20 note, or just the £10 / £5 which have been out for ages?
Romania has had plastic notes for years, Canada and Australia also. I dislike them, they don't fold properly and feel gimmicky.
Now we have left the EU, let's get back to threepenny bits and silver sixpences in the Christmas pudding!

I don't know if you are aware that the Isle of Man started using plastic bank note 39 years ago
