All you motorcyclists who like to 'live on the edge' should try motorcycling in Italy.
I've never seen so many attempts at suicide in two weeks. I don't mind them killing themselves if they want but please don't get any of your blood or ruptured internal organs on my paint work or scratch or dent my car or caravan in the process please.
Absolutely manic some of them!!
I reckon some on her would love to have a go at it.

I've seen that going on in Italy. Far worse is Indonesia particularly the capital, Jakarta. I bought a Honda 150 when I lived there, I survived the experience.
Actually if you spend some time in a place you'll eventually work out the driving/ riding culture and begin to understand it. In Jakarta cars and trucks pull out on you all the time but they only do it when you have time to stop or move over. If you have this time and hit the truck, it's your fault. Another example is that if a bike or car cuts you up and you hit it it's your fault. The vehicle in front always has priority, even if it's only a foot in front.
The most dangerous thing you can do as a visitor is drive/ ride with a mind set that our way is best. It most certainly isn't, anywhere other than here. Far better to spend a bit of time working out what's going on, then join the party! If that doesn't appeal it's perhaps best to take public transport.

I understand the Jakarta ethos, rather like driving in London (where I spent my first 40 years) To the untrained eye Marble Arch/Hyde Park Corner looks like mayhem but we all learnt to anticipate who was going where and it sort of worked. Phil

Really?, I usually find a slight out of lane drift as a biker tries to pass the 'van usually curtails any journey PDQ. If you do it right you don't even mark the paintwork on the 'van. (this was a joke)

My LC, not long after i first had it, it now has a pair of new old stock genuine pipes and baffles on it. Its Buried at the back of the garage so no current pics I'm afraid.
Capri in the background was my first car, leaf green 1.6l that kept it's original paint but ended up much modified - the Capri did for year round motorcycling, girls much preferred riding about in that than on the back of a bike - even in 1997!

I've done a fair bit of driving in the Far East and it's definitely a case of "when in Rome"... same with crossing the road in Vietnam - you absolutely DON'T LOOK, you just walk across and they avoid you. But it doesn't work if look as you instinctively then try to dodge them whilst they are dodging you which results in disaster.

lol Only had a Velocette LE and a Vespa 150 which nearly killed me giving me 12 months in hospital. Hence my disabilities today. Good bit on the LE from Wikipedia. The Velocette LE was a motorcycle made by Velocette from 1948 to 1970. The designation LE stood for "little engine".[3] Used by over fifty British Police forces, the police riders became known as "Noddies" because they were required to nod to senior officers, and the LE was nicknamed "the Noddy Bike".[4] Production ended in 1970 when the company ran into financial problems and went into voluntary liquidation. Many years ago, my Dad, his mate and I went to an LE owners club meeting at Stanford hall - his mate was in the process of restoring one - it's fair to say, the LE Owners club was full of oddball characters jusy like my dad's mate!

The LE was an amazing bit of kit, I had mine in 1958 and for a 17 year old it gave freedom and she took me on many a long trip, 55mph downhill with the wind behind you. Remember in 1958 a 17 year old was still a long way from the key to the door and 21. Oh and creeping up to the belisha crossing silently as the girls crossed
