I thought Beardie Branson was buying Flybe. You know, the git who doesn't pay any tax. He does part own it and was going to put 30 million in to rescue it, however in a couple of months he might be able to buy it for a lot less I thought the UK Government had already propped Flybe up with a few million about 6 weeks ago? "On Thursday, the boss of rival carrier Ryanair described the government's intervention to support Flybe as a "badly thought-out bailout of a chronically loss-making airline". Michael O'Leary, sent a strongly worded letter to Chancellor Sajid Javid in which he argued any measures that were being put in place to help Flybe should be extended to other airlines. "We must be treated the same as Flybe if fair competition is to exist," he wrote." Yes, indeed - why should Flybe be given free money courtesy of the British taxpayer? "The government has not published the details of what it has discussed with Flybe, although it has said it is fully compliant with state aid rules." = lots of fiddling going on, it would seem!!! "Flybe's owners Richard Branson's Virgin Atlantic, Stobart Group and Cyrus Capital have agreed to invest £30m into the airline." - so the UK Government is giving money to its mates Branson and the other two, eh?

Has China got a grip on the virus now? Are they all going back to work? What makes this virus worse than the average flu we get every year? I have so many questions I can’t find the answers for.

According to my MI6 contacts in Hong Kong it has all gone pear shaped and governments are trying as hard as they can to convince people that it is under control.
It isn't under control at all. The virus will end up killing an estimated 46.5% of the world's population by October 2023.
I'm afraid to say this is a long game in survival terms.
One has to do whatever one can do.
Hard times are coming so watch out.

I have so many questions I can’t find the answers for. Just take a look in the Daily Mail....That has all the answers. It is really hard to tell about this coronavirus - whatever the contagion / death rate, it is certainly creating an effect all over the shop. Our return flight from Japan is cancelled - because of this coronavirus meaning less people are flying, or a knock-on effect of Finnair cancelling all flights to China (apart from to Hong Kong). Tell the 6,000 Finnair employess who are being temporarily laid off it's a 'load of bollocks'. Somehow I don't think they're too happy to see their income drop with the rent still to pay, and shoes for the kids to buy. We have to follow the News every day to see what's happening and whether we have to ditch our trip to Japan entirely. We were to go to a wedding in Tokyo, but the couple getting married are now wondering if they should cancel the wedding for the time being as it may be no-one will be turning up! People in Japan are being advised not to mingle in groups. Schools in Japan are closed for all of March in an attempt to stem the spread of this 'mystery disease'. I have said earlier that it's probably one of those things people will have forgotten about by next Christmas... but it's in the News all the time at present. I haven't really followed the whole episode, but was thinking today that if food does disappear from our two small shops here in this village, then we may have to go and murder some people to survive, preferably small children (but not the fatty ones) as they're probably more tasty than adults who've been smoking their whole life. "I ate his liver with some fava beans, and a nice chianti."

what might put it into perspective is that since Oct over 4,000 people have been diagnosed with flu ..... and 70 of them have died. and just to cheer you up a little in 2014/15 winter over 28,000 people died of flu in the UK

All 'Peace and Love' until it comes to money. Isn't there a saying that if you want to find the truth, follow the money trail? (something like that, maybe from a film or something). I think it's probably quite true. Anyway 'they' said everyone was going to die of AIDS, then bird flu. Man flu however IS VERY serious .

So though not many have it yet, it is increasing. Time will tell..........

I think you will find that 0.1% death rate for flu is for the current strain (and also remember that the take up of flu vaccinations is about 50% and even higher in the risk groups) I don't remember reading anything directly about the UK in a high risk year such as 2014/15 but there was an article in science direct about Italy (which also has a good record on vaccinations) that would indicate nearer 1% ...... which if you allow for those vaccinated then probably nearer 2% edit to add ..... the difference with this one (apart from the lack of vaccines) is the infection rate and the sheer number of people that will catch it

What is "flu"?, for example. Maybe they had a bad heart and were aged and a cold got worse...? And how can anyone believe anything the Chinese government tells you? How many Uighurs are in their concentration camps for 're-education' - will they tell you that? Thought not. If only 70 people have died all round the world of this 'coronavirus' so far (and... was it really that alone that killed them?), then why has Japan got all of it schools closed for all of March? Why are airlines stopping so many flights? Why did the Chinese build that new hospital in a week? (funny... haven't heard anything about that afterwards... perhaps it fell down?) Difficult to say how bollocky this whole thing is. Will it all be forgotten by Christmas? Do they still have Foot & Mouth in the Lake District, but no-one is telling because they just want the public to not know and carry on buying lamb chops for tea?

I wonder how many people are now avoiding contact with others? I have joked with the kids that they should no longer visit, but can’t imagine not seeing them regularly. Ali and me could just bob off on the boat for a couple of months, not see or speak with anyone. That would mean we can’t catch the virus, but seems rather over the top. Our sons girl is a BA trolley dolly so must have a high percentage chance of catching it..
