I was looking at The New York Times this morning. I think you have to read a lot to get a general idea of what's going on. It's just so farcical with dog walkers in the middle of nowhere being hassled by the Police with their little toy drones, yet thousands are crammed into trains going in and out of the big cities. Nothing new for me personally - still off work and getting paid to stay at home. With my bus being off the road that's saved 560 litres of diesel going up into the atmosphere so far (70 litres/day x 8 days). As it is a nice sunny day (although bitterly cold) we are off later to see if we can get some more sunset timelapse videos - this time to the harbour at Rahja; looking at maps it looks like it will be in direct line-of-sight for the setting sun. (I am also working my way through a long video explaining why it is believed this virus to be a bio-weapon deliberately spread by the Communist Chinese government/dictators/mafia. If it was deliberately spread then this will have been the most aggressive act of war against anyone in the history of the world. True or not? You decide!) have you read this book?
some people suggest that Dean Koontz predicted the 2019-2020 Coronavirus outbreak in his book published in 1981 “The Eyes of Darkness”, mentioning a virus called “Gorki-400” which was renamed “Wuhan-400” when he released a new edition of the book in 1989.
No... but this is the video I've been watching today. I doubt anyone here will look at it as it's 1.5 hours long. Paul Cottrell is convinced it's a bio-weapon deliberately let loose by the nasty people who are running China. Yes, yes, there are loads of books surfacing in which someone has prdicted a virus for the year 2020. I expect Nostradamus will be dragged up again shortly. I like to read a lot and try and make up my own mind. I still don't have enough information about anything yet, really - only that my point about many English people being selfish idiots seems to have been proven very true all of a sudden. We had a dilemma just now. Next-door neighbour sent a text that he can now come and look at our kitchen lamps, we need 2 new ones. To let him in.... or not??!! Letting him in could ruin our last 2 weeks of 'self-quarantine/isolation'. Not letting him in means nothing happens with the lamps. I thought that, as he hasn't been outside Himanka, and Himanka is still Covid-19 free (we think!), we could take the risk. So now we are one step ahead with sorting the lights out. Still, if we have caught 'it' we won't be spreading it to others.... until next time we go to our local shops Here's that video. I found it as I liked Stefan's video that I posted yesterday (also re-posted here):

I saw that earlier on today. Quite good actually. It's not that recent but did seem to predict what would happen. I'm still going for <9,000 deaths in the UK on this story but not an expert obviously. Have a look at the graphs here - you can refine your prediction on a daily basis (bit like stocks and shares...) No payment firewall as well for this page...

I would respect social distancing in favour of lamp repairs.
Have you not got some candles?

this current experience shows how a [crisis] can be used [by] people and groups who will jump on it to suit their agenda. For example, the only way to know Neil Armstrong stood on the moon Neil lied. Those footprints are mine.

The thing about any durable conspiracy theory is the difficulty of demonstrating its flaws to an unarguable level. For example, the only way to know Neil Armstrong stood on the moon would be to go there and see the footprints for yourself. And even then some twat would say you are lying. Its a bit like saying that someone has invented a deadly new virus when really all along its just the flu. Also most people are not attempting to act as a community to overcome a national emergency, they're just a bunch of daft sheep. Some people would believe anything (except me and my monkey). The thing is that while impossible to prove most conspiracy theories are in fact technically correct. Can't quite believe I'm doing this but state one substantiated claim concerning the notion the moon landings were faked. And nobody has ever mistaken you for an expert...

Yes I look at the worldometers site quite regularly. Still going for <9000 UK deaths figure not going to change my mind.

I have and that bit is like a quick add on at the end. It's absence wouldn't have made any difference, the story was over. Dean was bound to hit lucky eventually, pretty much all his books involve psycho's with control over government secret research / nobody realises what they're really up / unintended consequences destroying the human race.

Where the hell did the made-up moon landings come into this ? It's so obvious it was faked. You don't need evidence when something is so blatant.

Does make me laugh how the FT is suddenly free. I wonder if the pedlars are now giving away drugs to kids.

That's the one with the scales that turn the graph curves upside down making it look like things are heading for the better. Gullible greed blinded small investors are having their pockets picked.

Personal experience rules eh? Well it's very true that whilst people are immersed in a virtual world and second/third hand news, it's unlikely that they will ever be any closer to the truth and reality. I suppose that's one thing where some of us old gits have an advantage. Sadly we don't seem to be very good at conveying it to our young. Maybe we're too stuck up on our ego. "I'm better than you because I'm older" type crap. Another good thing about what's happened is that the young can experience something close to a war situation. It's opened up all our eyes regardless of age and financial weath. I just hope the anxiety doesn't add to the numbers.

I'm off to buy a virtual reality headset just as soon as I'm allowed to.
