Once more posted abroad, eastern Europe this time. Post Brexit trade agreements now, hope its not for too long, its horrible here. Can't be too specific as to where but its one of the furthest countries from the UK that is still in the community. Can't speak or understand a word of the language. Even the weather is crap, but better than soaking UK when I left.

Can't speak or understand a word of the language. Don't worry, they all speak English. In fact, foreigners routinely speak English and only revert to their own language if there is an English person in earshot, like the Welsh do.

There's parts of Barnsley where I struggle to comprehend folk with their talk of "cups o' te ah" and "oo wa' tha wi' , wah tha wi thi sen?" Take it you're further away than that ? Blue sky thinking ... how much are you going to enjoying coming home Rog

You can tell that I'm bored stiff this afternoon, posting far too often,,,,,,,,,, don't all agree at once, save some for later to give me something to do please.
Now its raining too, what a god awful place. The Eurocrats can have it. Meetings later, then dinner. I dread to think what that will be. Last nights repast was dreadful.
Saw a horse and cart on the main road this morning, the horse crapped, highlight of the day.
I will have to go and lie down.

That's about all I can remember of it. Went and had a look, its a wreck, monuments and sculptures falling apart and graffiti everywhere. Too cold for boats, too warm for skating. [no ice!] Former USSR influence very in your face, not attractive at all. Sad really, could be nice but the locals obviously don't care at all.

That's quite strange because one notable thing about eastern Europe when I used to travel there a lot was the complete lack of graffiti. This was in the early 1990s though and I guess people still lived in more fear of the authorities and there was possibly more of a stigma about defacing state property than there is nowadays. Bulgaria is quite pretty out in the countryside and train travel is, or at least was, dirt cheap in eastern Europe so I'd suggest a train ride to some random small town 50 miles out of Sofia for a day out.

I would prefer a plane out heading West ASAP. Odd thing is we have friends who live here but well out from Sofia, they built a lovely house. Will wrap up what little negotiations there are as fast as possible. No CoronaV though thankfully.

Sorry, but cheap for a good reason from what I have seen. Not for me, the whole place, people, transport, infrastructure, architecture is too ugly.
