Would that it were so.
I strongly suspect that the budget has been written for quite some time ... it is what it is.
Is it the 11th all will be revealed ?

I think Sajid ripped up the original when he told Boris to 'get lost'...
Yep fill up with red before midnight on the 11th - I expect queues just like in old times at petrol stations on budget day....

It is gonna cost me a fair bit more IF it happens... as you know, I run Ellis's engine for circa 7 hours daily and the heating (for hot water) for 2 hours on a morning, April through to Nov... at 50p a litre more, that's (optimistically) 1200 quid a year extra ... I've already put next years pricing up a fair bit (to pay for divorce loans) so I can't go up any more... hmmf.
Still, Life's better by water - NOT so sure that's the case if you're sinking lol.
GRR - hopefully, it's just media bollocks as usual...

'Meanwhile, the chancellor is expected to scrap a subsidy on diesel used by the farming and construction sector in an effort to encourage a switch to greener alternative fuel vehicles and help the UK meet its climate change targets. Rishi Sunak is set to announce in next week's budget that red diesel - so-called because it is marked with a dye - will no longer attract a lower fuel duty. It currently accounts for about 15% of total diesel sales in the UK and costs the Treasury about £2.4bn a year in revenue.'
Well, don't blame me, I voted Labour. I did warn about the perils we were heading for. Now WE have to start paying for the whims of leave voters.

Last i heard farms were going to be exempt maybe thats changed? looks like boating on diesel is going to be expensive from now on Won’t make a huge difference. Assuming the worst that diesel doubles it’s price(unlikely) then itl cost me maybe £500 extra per year. Most boaters it’ll be more like a couple of hundred quid. Nothing in the boat world is it? I am more concerned about the petrol changes coming in, e5 to e10. I can see my old bikes ending up in my lounge as decoration. A reminder of better times. Times like these make me thankful that I grew up when I did. I read that as well Ian E5 has dissolved some carbs so god knows what E10 will do, the article I read didnt say anything about increasing the bio content in diesel, but I suspect thats a given? My old diesel engine ran fine on full bio but acquired the boat fairly new so thats literally all it knew, but older diesels might need some seals etc?

Yup and I am sure we will attend your funeral when one shoots you down for doing just that! also read what it said no red diesel for farmers so they will massively increase security on their diesel tanks!!

Then I apologise for being inconsiderate. I hope that the changes will allow for some kind of heating rebate. You weren't inconsiderate, probably you were right for most boaters. Can you fit a second tank for Kero? I have and its much cheaper than diesel

Do keep up though, the EU aren't responsible for the proposals now. It's down to a bunch of tory twats. Sorry no, that's wrong, it's only down to one, the puppet master Dominic. Hands up who believed their lies and voted for them? They are heading for a priti mess too.

I've been reading this for a decade or more and from personal experience it's crap. What did happen was it coincided with the point that all "rubber" car parts started falling to pieces in weeks and it got the blame for anything fuel associated like seals in carbs and fuel pipe.

I didn't, but as I've told you before, had the Labour party listened to its voter base and stood on a pro-Brexit ticket instead of the Islington luvvie set who control it now telling its voter base what it should be thinking, then Labour would be in power now. As it is, unless they give themselves a shake they are unlikely to win another election in our lifetimes.
