That looks like the phone I used to play 'Snake' on a loooooong time ago ! Nokia 6230i. Fantastic phone. Over 25 years old now. Point of order it's not 25 years old. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nokia_62306230i is a 2005 unit so you are ten years out. 25 years ago we were still using the analogue network if I remember right. I bought a Panasonic mobile in 1994 from Unique Air in Abingdon. That was an analogue device. My first mobile telephone.

Here's a public information announcement that might help keep some of us alive during these times of germ warfare! And here's how Finland's city of Oulu spends taxpayers money 'protecting' young girls from 'refugee' grooming/rape gangs: Not on tiktok but also money down the drain on another 'how to stop getting yourself raped' video out 3 years ago by Finland's BBC (YLE). Taxpayers' money is soooo easy to fritter,. If the hands aren't enough, use your handbag, ladies!

Living in The Land of Nokia I did think it looked like a model from around 1999. My first one was the 1994 model (looks like it, anyway) and my wife's first phone that I bought her looked like the 2000 model although I think I got it in '98.

Red wine and sports, but not at the same time. I also spend a long time on internet dating sites although they aren't what they were. Or maybe I'm not what I was. Or both.

I bought Jane a Nokia mobile for St Valentine's day in 1994 as her father was in hospital terminally ill with cancer, and I thought she'd be able to remain in contact with the hospital at Pontefract (some distance from us) whatever happened 24/7. The phone cost £140 and I think I had to pay £50 a month if memory serves. The phone was like a house brick (the 1992 model in the photo above) , and from that day Jane's always had a mobile, turned permanently on, and kept the same number over 26 years. I remember back then if her phone rang, I used to walk away as it was so embarrassing ... how times change Rog

My first phone was a Telecom Gold .....basically a car phone with a 12V battery pack and a pick up handset.
Can't remember when but it was a hell of a long time ago and I also have the same number ..... well apart from the extra number they stuck on all mobile numbers when they found they didn't have enough !!!

For a time I had a job working for a mobile service provider. This largely consisted of listening to people whine about their phone. Sometimes one would remark about how long they had been a customer. 'I had the first mobile available', they would say. 'It was a brick'. 'Oh, ha ha, how amusing and interesting', I would reply. Such a happy day when I left.
