For a time I had a job working for a mobile service provider. This largely consisted of listening to people whine about their phone. Sometimes one would remark about how long they had been a customer. 'I had the first mobile available', they would say. 'It was a brick'. 'Oh, ha ha, how amusing and interesting', I would reply. Such a happy day when I left. I used to design the civils, mech, elec and lightning protection for transmission sites and people expected me to know which handset was best.

I bought a credit card size phone a couple of years ago just for fun. amazing little gadget, only 3mm thick.
For serious use I have had a series of clamshell phones for the past 20 years, they are no bigger than the key fob for my car. They do what is needed, which does not include surfing spiders' domains, playing muzak or sharing fotigraffs.
