On the theme of the thread title, I was just looking at the home page details
215,000 posts on nearly 6,000 threads over 500 members (yes I know that like the other place, that does not compare with the number of real members) but I notice that in the last 24 hours 44 members visited and 836 guests ........ when I think back to the days when Delta9 started this site ......... I am truly gobsmacked

Patty I reckon it will go on until all the panic buyers run out of room to store the stuff. Once that happens we should return to normal Phil

Having been out mid morning yesterday, as the time progressed, the numbers of people generally around town went down constantly. I got the impression it must have been jammed first thing? I would like not only to do a bit of shopping, but NOT do my shopping in a huge mob of people.

I suppose on the plus side it might enable people to discover new foodstuffs they never considered before.
Perhaps caviar will become more popular as supermarkets discount it to make room on the shelves for more sanity products.

Here's something different: having a look at this, I then looked up Blackfriars station - I didn't know the platforms were over the River Thames and you could get a view of Tower Bridge, etc. www.railforums.co.uk/threads/most-exhilarating-station-approach.201156/ We have sometimes thought of having a week's holiday in London, just wandering around and getting to know it better. It's probably a nice thing to do if you have a little plan and are up for some walking.

We've taken the boat into Paddington for a week, four times now.
I love doing it but a weeks plenty.
You can book a weeks mooring with C&RT now (£10 a night) which is better than just going with fingers crossed in my view.
An unlimited travel card and off you go ... but be warned ... London makes your legs ache.
