Tesco in Ely have NO tinned stuff, even the dogs are going to be hungry. There is no frozen food available likewise breakfast cereal is almost nonexistent as are flour and eggs (so pancakes are off) Oh and let's not forget meat, scrub that there isn't any apart from a little bacon. Soap? Nah , Wipes? Nah, Toilet Rolls You having a laugh? Pasta, Rice, (snigger) No Chance Rather makes you wonder why we bother but we do because we are stoic and glass half full kinda people Phil That sounds bloody rough Phil

Other thing is smaller shops ripping people off. I was subjected to this by a Nisa local earlier. They only did me for £1 extra so I wasn't that bothered but 100 customers an extra £1 is £100 a day. Useful cash really.
I've been short-changed repeatedly at a different Nisa shop a while ago. Interested to notice that doing a Google maps review mentioning the short changing did sort it out. I don't think they knew it was me as not a regular but have been since a few times and no problems.
Someone once told me people know more than you think they do so could have got wrong end of stick.
The MI6 meeting at Didcot tomorrow is going to be interesting.

Dormitory town with everyone suddenly at home? Good luck with your shopping next time.

metanoia I can leak a little bit but the official secrets act has been beefed up this week to take account of this obvious problem. The rumours suggest that troops will be used to deliver beer supplies as rioting is predicted in beer shops. To get beer you will have to present proof of eligibility. I'm still quite heavily affected by your username as it is the name of a loony psychotherapy place I was exposed to as a teenager. A place in Ealing . This place www.metanoia.ac.uk/I blame having weird parents. In the current circumstances it's handy they are both pushing up daisies !

It's not a negative thing.
Just something I will always remember.
I know it's a boat name I didn't mean to get personal about it.
Nice name for a boat actually given the meaning of the word itself.

A lovely name - I chose it because I loved the word and its meaning - a change in the way you think, a move to self sufficiency.... etc.... I have issues with the name Andrew but …..

Andrew is not my birth name I changed it when I was 11. Real name is Ossian.
Not a joke I actually did change my name because of idiots targetting me at school. Family tradition all males called Andrew xxxxxx their given name was xxxxxx but I reverted to Andrew.
That's the problem with being born into the gentry.
All the male ancestors had Andrew as a first name but none of them were called Andrew.
I wrestle with this issue on a day today basis.

Son needed to go and stash stuff in the store so we tried Tescos huge supermarket..it was almost empty of just about everything so I brought...vino and 3 individual sachets hot choc... Its freaky ..not going again. I'm hoping the restaurants will bulk buy, repack and sell to locals and I'll exist on whats available. Some are going to do this and some are doing take away..I could do that and just order a weeks supply at a time. I'm ok atm though still no loo roll or paracetamol or any of the usual shortages.

"And for the benefit of naughtyfox ... acknowledging problems and getting on with life is better than relishing in scare stories and cultivating fear and panic." "Apart from the pasta/rice/loo roll nonsense (and a I'm pretty sure that will settle down this week as shops control sales) we haven't seen much other than people carrying on regardless." "Life continues as normal." Ross , you do talk a lot of bollox. If you were here I would gladly take you shopping with me and then you could see 1st hand the way the shops have been "looted" Phil

I managed to get a couple of tins of chick peas earlier.
Could have been related to the fact I was carrying a really big sandwich board with my health status on it or perhaps because nobody else in Eton likes chickpeas.
£18.50 for a tin of chick peas seemed reasonable.
A big fan of chick peas actually. Gold plated food product.
I will eat them one by one with pigeon blood sauce.

Today I went for a normal Friday afternoon date with Ms Berg, which normally consisted on us going on a pub crawl, getting wankered on Stella and cheap / darkfruit cider then me spending a hour or so staring at her unfeasibly large breasticals whilst she posts shite on social media! 🙄
Today tho, due to the concerns of being in close contact with disease ridden scrotes, we decided to go for a walk round the local wildlife sanctuary feeding the ducks / swans and just having a good talk / time together.🙂
So, thanks to CoronaVirus, Ive realised today that Ms B is actually really a rather lovely n intelligent person, not just a pair of boobs on stilts 👍
I’m concerned how long this disease will continue? 🙄

Progress! I shall be able to work a mix of 3-4 half days, 1 -2 full days. Our Childminder is having Key worker children in her setting. While our gates are open and the lights are on that should keep things ticking over OK! We declined the offer from school. They said they will open one school in their group so they could have gone anywhere. Luckily the missus can work from home for as long as it takes. On a different side and in line with the thread title, I am staying positive. Van failed its MOT but on the two things I noticed. Some corrosion to a rear suspension mount and the cv boot is torn in half. I spotted both put it in anyway. They have dropped the 10 day retest rule anyway. A mate, once he has stopped self isolating will pop by and do the two things. A few advisories but all things that are on the todo list anyway.
