So this is gaining traction. www.independent.co.uk/news/health/coronavirus-uk-nhs-workers-applaud-support-clap-our-carers-a9421206.htmlGiving clap to our careers is an unfortunate way of promoting it 🙈 So on the face of it a worthy thing to do, I'll ask Mrs Gazza what she thinks when she gets in. I am toying with the idea of trying to push for a cheer for teachers this Monday at 15:30 - it will be a week in to home schooling for millions of us that had no desire to be teachers who find themselves suddenly thrust into that role. By God there's more to it than meets the eye, our works laser printer has worked the hardest it ever has this morning, a small forest has been decimated in the process. Getting the enthusiasm to learn and make it fun while the sun is shining and a garden full of kit is easier said than done - doable it is though 👍 I now know about blue for brilliant, green for good and pink for think - thanks to a small person a fag paper off six years old. In a couple of days I've had the tiniest insight into just how hard school teachers work, the enthusiasm and commitment they must have for their profession and the passion for teaching and learning that is at the core. Teachers eh? It's not all tea and biscuits and ridiculously long holidays 🙈👍🤗

I like the recent meme where it says parents are about to find out the teacher is not the problem.
My ex is a primary school teacher head of year or two years, or something she has started a facebook group and is doing loads of lessons and linking to great places online for schoolwork or help.
Have you got little one doing P.E at 9am thanks to the bloke doing a live YouTube video.
The kids are getting into it all but teachers are still putting so much work in.
His is all online and their system allows comments and stuff so all the kids and teachers can still discuss stuff while doing the set work.
Big shout to parents and a bigger shout to teachers is in order.

I like the recent meme where it says parents are about to find out the teacher is not the problem. I like that. I was reading a post elsewhere where a chap with a deaf 16 year old was complaining that his child hadn't been supported properly at school because he was 16 and didn't know how to use a cashpoint, a supermarket or buy fish and chips... It's a classic car forum, he has a classic car, he works on it himself, he has TIME and he has MONEY and yet it's the school's fault that he hasn't taught his child basic life skills. Idiot. NOBODY pulled him up on it (I'm a lurker, I would have, that's why I lurk - I'd have been savaged).

In fact he has been asked to help cook at home for his food lessons and he has just put what looks and smells like a lovely lasagna in the oven. So lasagne and garlic bread are on him tonight.

Yes good luck to the NHS people.
And having been closely involved in a year of home teaching of my kids I know how complex it is. Not enforced home schooling but it was related to something quite nasty happening. Nothing remotely as bad as thousands of old ill people dying for inability to breathe.
Let's hope this situation enables people to find things they never knew were there and provide a better future for the little ones.
I come across as a pessimist sometimes due to the worrying but in reality I am a "closet optimist".
Short term pain for long term gain. I wonder if the PM might start using language like that at some point.

I am on the morning turn at work - the dwarf tells me she does PE at the childminder at 9am 👍 The school have been very good at providing resources - be that sending them hone with a folder full of work or providing links to online resources; although I was a bit alarmed when the car read out the web address www.twinkl.co.uk, I wondered who the hell was pranking me as it came up private number! It wasn’t until I got home and could read the text on my phone did it all make sense! As for the clap - Mrs Gazza says that the thought is commendable; but what would go much more appreciated would be people adhering to social distancing, self isolating where necessary and packing in clearing the shelves of food while they are at work 🧐

Daughter is doing projects with grand daughter..they collected frog spawn so life cycle of the frog is one. She's using on line resources as well but what she says is not to forget the kids lives have been turned upside down and some leeway has to be factored in.

I wouldn't mind giving a nurse the clap. I’m not sure what Jeff would say. He might be up for it I suppose. Although I think MJG would have to mullet over.

Cue huge crowds of brainless knobheads gathering round Hospitals... It's going to waste policing to stop that. I'm probably wrong.
