Has anyone noticed the number of very rich people who cashed in stocks and shares just prior the coronavirus turning into a global pandemic. It seems that once this is over the richest part of society will be able to sweep up some good bargains on the various stock exchanges around the world. Noticed? I can't see any from here. Are they advertising it somewhere? Any fund manager would react faster to this than a government, if they didn't they'd be out of work. The pandemic thing is well modelled, it's just an "event" as far as money is concerned. Money has no heart, but it does seem to gather together in lumps that defend itself.

I hope we'll all be a little kinder ... appreciate more the benefits of modern life and how fragile they can be ... be a little more considerate and understanding of our 'fellow passengers to the grave' ... Rog I would imagine the African guy probably wants to go back to Africa now, where people know how to behave. Errr, Winnie Mandela?

I quite like "wrong turn" for the zombies. This social distancing and self isolation thing has the potential to be incredibly bad shit. It will expose the inequalities in society and hammer home the message about housing. Definitely a case of short term pain for long term gain. One just hopes that it helps make things better because the existing situation is a can of worms that definitely needed opening. Expose the inequalities in society. Which particular part of society do you think will be awakened from their slumber and enlightened?

I dream of a tyre around my neck filled with petrol with a match thrown in.
Hoping for cold weather which lowers the flash point of the fuel .

ETA I realise I used him in the past tense. This was a statistical model based on SIS intell and the probability of already being dead at the age of 58. For national security reasons I am officially withdrawing all previous comments. Ends

I think they could be a bit outnumbered. This country is not perfect but a lot of people are attracted to it's relative stability and will defend that if pushed too far even if the scrotes do get a toehold for a few days/weeks or even months.

Someone is going to have to decline to follow their social distancing obligations then. I suppose when the shit hits the fan people will opt to be the fan.

Nobody likes to have their security threatened. EDIT: Yes, be the fan. Exactly that.

Quite right and hopefully it won't come to that. Push down on the curve, apply social distancing and stop the spread of infection. It's good advice which nobody could possibly argue with. Won't happen though..

My son would go berserk and fight to the death without a moments hesitation. It's just how he is. Mr Stabby Junior. He'd need provoking, but doesn't believe in negotiation. A good crew.

Meanwhile I'm learning how to add tigers n lions to my photos....little sis has it sussed but I'm not so techno savvy but come the end of this I might be..... Exciting thought.... If shopping gets traumatic..I'll play the I can't manage and get daughter to pick mine up, she's already offered... 70M people all suddenly needing at least 2 weeks food at hand all the time is bound to be problematic but I suspect the opposite will happen and shopping will gradually become more orderly and less traumatic than of late. I really wanted some fresh fruit & veg this morn,so walked up to my local co-op(5 mins)where I do often shop for bits n' bobs. They were letting folk in so only ever 5 in the shop(3 ahead of me).Got what I wanted except for nanas, plus fresh crusty bread & a 10 box of shortish dated cloudy cider for a fiver.Told the staff how fab they were & couldn't believe the stories of verbal threats/abuse they shared with me !

Realists. Nobody had to buy them. Those that did were short sighted or greed (cheap price) made them blinkered to common sense. My own son, who has no direct connection with the outside world saw this coming in January.
