I'm still trying to picture metanoia 's 'little mat ' on the roof Rog Sorry - referring to one of foxy's comments …. after Nick told me in no uncertain terms the towpath didn't belong to me. I only ever make a "temporary" claim to a little rubber mat by the door for the dog and I to step on and off. eta - why am I bothering?!

I'm still trying to picture metanoia 's 'little mat ' on the roof Rog One way of avoiding the space before the apostrophe on the name tag would be to rearrange the sentence. Like this for example. "I'm still trying to picture the 'little mat' which metanoia has on the roof " Much tidier. I'm still thinking @magnetman 's a real twat Rog

No. I was quoting dogless who used a 's in his post. That was why the triple inverted comma turned up in my post and was technically correct even if it does look a bit wrong

Rog I was simply raising the slightly awkward situation where one need to add a space in order for the tagging thing to work and why I feel it would be worth blah blah blah

10 years in jail.
ETA my original question was actually not intended to be serious but of course this topic is now "gaining traction" as being very serious indeed.
Serious enough that in some countries people are subjected to criminal prosecution...
