Keep safe and well - hope they can too x

I know it sounds a bit odd but does there come a point in a medical workers life when they start to look after their own wellbeing rather than caring for others?
I would have thought survival instinct would kick in at some point or are we talking about people who have a completely selfless devotion to the care of others?
I suppose another way of putting it would be if the work was not paying for the mortgage would people still be going in and breathing contagion.
Sorry to be a bit rude but I do sometimes wonder about it.
I've got a DNR tag. No way would I want someone to risk their own life pumping my dead body.

In my experience, many (but by no means all) people who are attracted to working in the care industry are uncaring to the point of being heartless and cruel, in the same way that dirty people seem to gravitate towards working in the food industry.

563 died yesterday, by Sunday it will be nearer a thousand per day (and increasing) at what level of daily deaths will you be prepared to admit that this is serious. Two thousand? Three thousand??. We have been self-isolating for the past 2 weeks and haven't caught anything so far - this could help prove that keeping away from other people is an effective method, and that human-to-human transmission is the cause? By the way, the tooth issue was a loose filling, easily sorted in 45 minutes. I stayed in the car (you never know what you'll pick up from health centres!). Pirkko said the dentists were dressed in full-body suits, in case their patients 'had a cough'. I'm glad we didn't have a flutter at Cheltenham, we might have caught it off the delightful Lili Mong: "Lily Allen celebrates during day four of the Cheltenham Festival at the racecourse on March 13" "More than 250,000 people walked in through the gates across the four days – and hundreds of them have claimed online that they have since developed symptoms." www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8179369/How-Cheltenham-Festival-hotspot-coronavirus-cases.html#commentsThe the thing is Foxy that it’s harder for some of those born into wealthy families to adjust to things like this. If you’re used to a simple life (and trust me, I’m simple) then it’s not so far to fall. I’m not trying to defend greed, but for some, it’s not always their fault.

Yes, there’s something in that. I suppose you have to be hard to cope with all the suffering and deaths. Desensitisation?

No we don't. We need to get it over and done with as quickly as possible, a bit like you may remember being sent to measles and mumps parties as a child. 563 died yesterday, by Sunday it will be nearer a thousand per day (and increasing) at what level of daily deaths will you be prepared to admit that this is serious. Two thousand? Three thousand??. My daft sister reckons we should stop banging on about the number of deaths but celebrate the numbers who have survived, she and bro in law are staying at their villa in Murcia. Reckon she doesn't check out the Spanish news cos fatalities has topped 10000, I'm waiting for the hot spot to move south, that'll learn her Phil

I take it you were not out clapping a few minutes ago... I was going to blast my very loud air horn but realised I had transferred it to another boat a week or two ago. So I just listened to the people clapping. Not as much as I would have expected given it is a high density urban area. Most people here have evacuated and who can blame them. I do feel sorry for the parents / grandparents though !!

I could start my engine right now and run it for a couple of hours without anyone being able to hear it so there would seem to be little point in flapping my hands together for a minute or so.

Wimbledon has been cancelled . Including the ladies.
This must come as a major disappointment.
