that’s not available at the moment. Although Ricco was saying the government don’t class him as self employed, so he isn’t entitled to it anyway.

It does make you think about things. I'm going to get rid of all except one boat then bugger off on that and eat fresh line-caught mackerel. Well you'd have one big advantage over me there, I wouldn't eat anything caught on a line on the cut.

It's open water I'm after.
The cut was nice but it has damaged me too much psychologically. Too much bad shit associated with the ditches.

One tonne of fresh water in stainless tanks and a small RO desalination plant and no no need for internet in the new world Anyway mobile phones work quite well down in the open bits. It's all a dream anyway

Paulnulife (no longer on the forums) used to have a liveaboard boat fitted with a water maker ..... not cheap but I must confess I have been wondering about one ..... it's the only thing that stops me being fully self sufficient.

I’ve been thinking about getting one for a while now as well.

The government doesn't classify me as self employed; it's living off investments. I thought you lived The Life of Riley just fishing off your boat, going kayaking, and once a year off to south-east Asia for a cheap & jolly time. For how many years have you been doing this? Why haven't you been working and putting something into 'the system'? As for me - if the government want me unemployed for the unseeable, then after working for over 40 years and contributing to society I'm happy to take a back seat and live on unemployment benefit for a year and half, after which it'll be a seamless transition to early retirement and a few years of boating. Boating without paying marina fees! Yay!

It doesn't have an RO plant on there but there is a space dedicated to one and it has its own very nice little bronze sea water inlet. It was definitely part of the plan for the boat.

Boating without paying marina fees! Yay! Have you actually researched the requirements to receive unemployment benefit Foxy? Unless it's changed from when my mate was unemployed a few years back you'll need to be interviewed regularly to prove you are actively looking for a job. I'm not sure it will be that practical moving around the country but could be wrong?
