The hard work version is Tcut or cutting compound, then polish with a quality wax polish, bloody hard work to say the least. For the life of me I cant remember the name of the stuff you just wipe on
Here you go mate this stuff they do mail order, it does do chalky and dull paint

Something I've seen used in thepast is Mer, wiped on and polished as normal. Widely used in automotive and caravan applications.

Mer is silicone based,so can cause problems when it comes to touching up the paintwork.

Well that idea is out the window - Halfords don't seem to be selling non essential stuff or their webshite is playing up.

My local one is selling everything if you turn up but you cant go in. It's like argos without the catalogue
