Ah, but that's where home made meals in the freezer come into there own We do use our home cooked freezer meals too but that doesnβt support the local businesses. We have High Street offices so we need the footfall that other thriving businesses create for us to thrive.. Together weβre better. I have been called tight, but I reckon that's a canard, really I'm just careful

The thought of going shopping fills me with horror at the best of times, at the moment I view every stranger outdoors as a potential assassin and to be avoided. For me shopping on line has been and is the way forward.

Never shopped on line , never wished to nor interested in doing so. I quite like shopping ... that is going to shops and buying what I want ... not Jane's version which means wandering aimlessly around shops to see if there's anything she may want Shopped today at Morrisons and had to queue outside for 20 mins ... but there's no queue at the tills so I don't particularly feel it's much longer an experience. All done for a week anyway. Shop staff have been brilliant. Rog

Rog Queueing for 20mins with people about would be hell for me, when I have had to use a supermarket and I arrive and there is a queue I just go elsewhere, I have before now driven through the car parks of the 4 local supermarkets as there have been queues and then gone home without buying what I have needed.

Farm shops have geared up here, now stocking essentials as well as fresh veg, and the farmer now making cakes to sell... beautiful truly home made cakes, all shapes and wedges of sticky goodness!

The local shop has started stocking bedding plants and compost which means the people who need a gardening fix are sorted..ok so its a bit more expensive but if folk want they have to pay.

Focuses the mind a two mile walk to the shops @loddon No I've never bought anything on line ... wouldn't know how. Jane has occasionally ... but very rarely ... last thing that springs to mind was some rubber matting for the front and back deck. She has bought books from ebay ... paid the boat licence if that counts ... but normally we'd both rather go to a shop where possible. Rog

I wouldn't want to buy something I've not seen, held, examined etc.
Jane bought me a book from ebay ... a childhood favourite book 'Bill Badger's Winter Cruise'. I love it and it has pride of place at home in my book case.
But it has scribbled crayon on several pages ... we probably wouldn't have bought it if we'd seen it in person.
After our boat burglary the insurance company told me I must accept a replacement for my stolen guitar, and they would buy it on line and send it to me ... I was flabbergasted and flatly refused.
After lengthy arguments they relented and accepted I had to select a suitable replacement myself and sent me a cheque.

I wouldn't want to buy something I've not seen, held, examined etc. Well, I can sort of understand that but when I asked at Brinklow Village Stores if they had a reproduction seat cover for a 1978 Honda Express they looked at me a bit blankly so I had to order one from Florida.
