The problem with people who refuse vaccinations is that they are depending for their protection on other peoples diligence. I think that parents who refuse to have their children immunized against dangerous childhood diseases should be prosecuted for child abuse.
other opinions are available but that is mine

The recent thinking about the app is that it won't work as 100% of folk won't use it or won't be able to use it.

The WHO are already saying that having caught the virus is no protection against getting it again, so the choice is simple if you dont have the vaccine you cant go to hospital if you catch the virus as you endanger everybody and the country with your actions

My sisters and I were brought up in isolated countryside without much interaction with others. None of us had the childhood vaccines. My children have been brought up in inner east London (don't ask !) and they have had the childhood vaccines. If you want to think about the pharmaceutical industry and consider for a moment how handy it is for people to be obliged to have vaccines then carry on thinking for a while... Bearing in mind the pharmaceutical industry is larger than the government in financial terms. It's too dodgy to just bow down to this system. It does not go anywhere good.

Is there ANY legally enforced vaccine ? I'm not aware of any and cannot see the situation changing ... not least because the likelihood of a virus vaccine seems infinitesimally small based on history to date. But MUCH greater minds than mine are working on this issue thankfully Rog

I was wondering about that.
No I don't think there are which is partly why the idea seems so wrong.
I suppose if one could wreck the economy in a few months to the same degree as a five year war did 80 years ago then it might be possible to argue for this to happen.
To get the economy going again.

But obviously we caught the lurgy anyway when at an age when it didn't cause major complications, and as a result we could never catch it again. Perhaps this is the approach we should be adopting now?

I suspect Mr Stabby that is a more likely outcome. We are merely hiding from the virus at present ...for very worthy reasons ... but eventually I suspect in a phased manner we'll be reintroduced into society to take our chances. Rog

Whilst this is perhaps ok for chicken pox..measles can be far more serious and mumps though OK in childhood is bad for adult men who wish to 'sow their seed' Used to be mandatory to have yellow fever vaccine if travelling to certain countries...I'm not sure it is now First time I went To S.America..down the Amazon they wouldn't let us board ship without it.. This time I did ensure had cert (had to have another vaccine as old one in married name and not acceptable) but they didn't ask to see so presume didn't really need

10:10 seems a very close call at the moment. Looking at the comments it also seems a pretty close call.
Obviously hardly a very scientific poll but if the general population went the same way we'd be looking at around 33 million people resisting a forced vaccine.
What would be interesting if it was made compulsory is proving that our entire government and PTB had had it, and whether it was the same vaccine everyone else was forced to have.

Also as any vaccine is likely to work in a similar way to how the virus effects the immune protection there is a possibility that any vaccine could be a short lasting one.

Also as any vaccine is likely to work in a similar way to how the virus effects the immune protection there is a possibility that any vaccine could be a short lasting one. That is exactly right as any vaccine just stimulates our own immune system to fight the virus. It also might not protect us from the next mutation of Coronavirus. There are around 200 different types of cold virus known. Some worse than others. Talking about the subtle differences in the way things are reported. I see a few media outlets are trying to flag up fake news, debunking they sometimes call it. I've noticed that some news is debunked as fake news when actually the truth is that we don't know. An example of this recently was a scientific study showung that the BCG jab may dramatically reduce the chance of contracting Covid-19. When you look at the data it's simply that the study hasn't been peer reviewed yet. I think sometimes it's difficult for people to admit they don't know about something, especially politicians. I think they sometimes see it as a sign of weakness. Just for the record, I don't really know how dangerous Covid-19 is compared with the influenza virus, I've got the same access to data as everyone else. However I've never been one to read a newspaper or any media report and believe it without doing my own research and trying to apply my own logic. The only thing I'm sure of is that a lot of people are suffering out there, I'd just hate to think some of that suffering was unessesery or manipulated by greed.

Nobody chose to be born into this society. It's good to conform to society's laws as they stand, this is an acceptable reduction in personal freedom, in exchange for the collective good. Forced immunisations are a step to far, something I wouldn't comply with.

I guess it'll be like the flu vaccine and offered yearly..I wonder if an alternative would be to market drugs to build up the immune system as I've been informed that its those who have immo compromised conditions who don't do well.
I see that as giving us the means to beat the virus when we catch it.
