Nobody chose to be born into this society. It's good to conform to society's laws as they stand, this is an acceptable reduction in personal freedom, in exchange for the collective good. Forced immunisations are a step to far, something I wouldn't comply with. just be glad then that the generations before you didn't have your selfish attitude and wiped out smallpox

It took about 80 years from the Smallpox vaccine being invented to the wipeout of smallpox - not sure previous generations did so well at the vaccination game......

they still managed it which is a first for an international medical program
Polio is another that resists complete eradication but it still has been wiped out in the majority of countries (and a note to Ricco ) in India by mandatory vaccinations for Indian nationals travelling to certain countries and nationals of certain countries travelling to India

Do we know yet? Anyway it wasn't mandatory after 1948 and there is still debate as to how effective it was and how safe it was. I suppose it could be argued that trying to fix this with social distancing may negate the need for a compulsory vaccine, however that depends on what the numbers look like in a few months time.

I'd hate to live in the totalitarian state you advocate.

I'd hate to live in the totalitarian state you advocate. The main reason I wanted to leave the EU actually. When power is pushed further away from us, the more power can be abused. In an imaginary world where everyone was nice and kind having a totalitarian world might work....but we're not.
