I have still plenty of things to do I have been taking my time with my "bridge". I have re-made a couple of bits that I wasn't 100% happy with. At another time I would probably have left them as adequate but as I have the time I decided to re-make the pivot section. Handrails next and then I will have to try and get some ply delivered for the decking. Today was just too nice to work and as a bonus the "caravan dweller" in the parking area near me had disappeared for the day so I spent it in my deck chair in the sunshine with a couple of beers

Jane tells me C&RT have just announced that we all get an extra month on our licence ... and it will be reviewed as this goes on. Boaters Update - "I know that some of you have asked about your licence fees and this is something we have been keeping under constant review. Of course none of us knows yet how long this disruption will continue, and so it is difficult to anticipate how much boating we’ll be able to do this year; and it is vital that all boats remain licensed so that we avoid all the possible legal issues that would arise if boats were out of licence. So today as an interim measure we are extending all licences that are due to expire at the end of April by one month to run until the end of May. All other current boat licences will be similarly extended by a month from their current expiry date. I urge you to continue to renew licences – we will look at the situation again in a month’s time when we hope that the full extent of the disruption will be much clearer. Let me urge anyone facing hardship to make contact with us so we can help. canalrivertrust.org.uk/enjoy-the-waterways/boating/boating-blogs-and-features/the-boaters-update/boaters-update-24-april-2020

Hmm we have been on lock down for 5 weeks now and have at least another 7 to go. We thought it was a joke (a very bad one) when Chris got the letter saying she had to isolate for 12 weeks but we stuck with it. Just as well we get on OK and that the weather has been good, we had another BBQ yesterday with a nice bottle of Malbec (Patty take note it's better than Merlot) Phil

My neice is in the same position phil70 ... and it's been a year since her chemo started. At eighteen she thought this spring/summer was going to be something special ... well it is but not in a good way. But together I'm sure we'll get through it. Rog

I am undecided how I feel about all this.... sometimes Im bit lonely, tad fed up and want to wander miles looking for the stuff in nature that helps me..however we have curfew police that seem to monitor everyone so I goes out 6am and back before 8..The fuss on Face Ache is getting worse about folks going out. I guess I feel trapped and I've always roamed miles. I would like to get stuff to the tip but not got a car and its shut..ever since Horror House I just hate rubbish cluttering. sometimes its all ok and i think i can keep on muddling through.. Ive just ask for refund of the rest of my travel insurance and cancelled magazine subscription as its not printing until after corona..It ask us to keep paying but I thought..nah cos it might never restart and they owe me 2 months anyway.
I cannot vote as I just dunno. Now gonna try Malbec..actually Ive got a lovely bottle of red that I brought back ..not opened it yet but i tried it in a little bar in somewhere and it was so nice had to buy one.

Don't be sad patty ... have a glass of wine ... dig out your beautiful dancing shoes and forget it all. My sainted old Mum always used to tell us we'd never appreciate the blue skies if it wasn't for the rainy days. Rog

Traffic is unbelievably quiet apart from selfish bell ends who think the ‘stay home’ request doesn’t apply to them and insist on going out taking pics of sunsets and generally driving round aimlessly spreading their shite everywhere! I'm not working for the Communist Party of China installing their Huawei spyware.
